I poured into a nonic glass to an inch of white creamy head. It has a nice gold hue. It smells of sweet malt and bready. It's got a metallic taste. It's not bad at first, but it lingers in the aftertaste. It gets better as I drink it. Actually, by the end of the beer it is not bad at all. I only got the metallic taste at first. It went away halfway through the beer. It is a bit watery. I could drink it again.

Gambrinos 12* on tap in CZ in 2011 (from notes) in .3L Gambrinos glass.
Appearance: yellow golden, excellent clarity; off-white two-finger head; fine carbonation; leaves ample lacing
Aroma: zatec hops, pils malt in balance
Taste: Nice malt hops mix followed by a hoppy, mildly bitter finish
Mouthfeel: semi-dry finish, medium body, medium carbonation

Brown bottle of 500 ml, bought in Germany, labeled as Gambrinus Premium. ABV is 5%. Everything is written in german on the bottle (also they have a web address gambrinus-bier.de) but it clearly states that is brewed in Czech Republic. In fact, I was about to add it as a new beer but then I scanned the barcode and it led me here. So, on with the review.
Poured into a tall Warsteiner footed pilsner glass, the colour was deep golden yellow, with a big white head, almost three fingers. Soapy in texture, it dissolved slowly but steadily, until it became a thin line on the beer's surface. Lively carbonation in the glass.
Not bad of a smell. Malts and some apple aromas. Not much of the classic Saaz hops smell though.
Taste is very malty and sweet at first, then turns itno a long lasting bitterness.
Very dry on the palate, medium to thick on the body and average to high carbonation.
Overall, not a bad beer.

Platinum blonde with a steady carpet of white foam. Fresh grassy nose with some candy corn sugary sweetness.
Very light flour biscuit malt up front with some plucky coriander leaf and mild spice hops.
Soapy finish, dry linger. Thin and crisp.
OK, it was always going to be lightweight at this strength. But it does squeeze in some actual Noble hop character. It's not going to convert anybody to Czech pils, but it's not going to offend anybody either.

I brought back a 330ml can of Svelte Gambrinus from recent trip to Europe. The beer poured a clear golden color with big of white creamy head that dissapated during the drink. It smells of sweet malt and bready. It's got a metallic taste. It's not bad at first, but it lingers in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel was a lighter body with good carbonation although it is a bit watery. I could drink it again.

A - A nice clear yellow fluid with a white head, actually like a Pilsener.
S - Fruity and a good scent of grains.
T - Not bad, but to light in body so not enough taste.
M - Medium carbonation and a bitter finish.
O - Not bad, but not good either.

Can sample thanks to our friend Milos. Pale straw topped with a creamy but short lived foam. Grassy aroma with a bit of lemon and sulphur. Lightly sweet and bitter, balanced. Light bodied, mild bitter finish with prickly carbonation. Good. Many thanks Milos!

This is not a bad beer! I got this beer form a collegue who was in the region where they brew this beer. Best before july 2011.
Poured in a dutch beerglass the beer looks good. One and a half finger white head and a very nice golden yellow fluit WITH carbonation...i like that. The head disappears after two minutes but the carbonation stays.
Good smell, fresh and crispy. This is a better beer than i had out of this region.
