Pours a near black color with a fluffy rocky tan head that slowly settles into a nice cap. The aroma is of a very lightly roasted malt with some bready and dark fruit notes. Quite bitter in the taste. Bittering hops hit right away and dominate the other flavors. The hops are piney with a bit of resin. This is followed by a deeply roasted malt which has its own bitter characteristics. There is some dark fruit sweetness that pops through here and there but does little to offset the bitterness. The brew has a full body, chewy, soft carbonation and finishes bitter. This brew seems to be bordering on the baltic porter/stout category. This sucker is big and heavy, strong hop profile that cuts through the roasted malt. I prefer my porters to be lighter than this. Flavorful, I can see why a lot will enjoy this beer.

L: Pours deep chestnut with a rich 2” light tan foam collar that dissipates but leaves good lacing.
S: Toffee, caramel aromas
T: Big malt flavors with mostly toasted flavors and nothing harsh or burnt. Starts with a light malt sweetness but dries on the finish with a touch of bitter and a slight astringency.
F: a little above medium body and a little below medium carbonation. Very soft and creamy in the mouth.
O: A nicely balanced porter with rich malt flavors.

A - Poured from a 22oz. bomber into a tulip glass. A dark color with a hint of clear deep amber color. A large head that stays present throughout the beer. White chunks in the bottom of my beer, probably just yeast.
S - Roasted hops and a rich molasses dominate the nose, with a slight coffee and chocolate note.
T - Honey taste with a nice hop and malt finish. Not getting much of the coffee or chocolate on the taste.
M - A bit light, but crisp and bubbly.
O - Would I buy this beer again, probably not, but it was worth the taste. I don't have a sweet spot for porters but I figured I try a nice local brew out.
