This dry stout features a roasted coffee-like bitterness and a clean well balanced palate. A gentle hop bitterness is present. Fantastic with a meal or by itself.

Pitch black, light head. Has a light smokiness to the nose. Let this warm a bit before drinking. Taste is strong dark roast, coffee, dark chocolate and licorice. Dry asadvertised. A good offering.

From the crowler via the brewery and the little lady's daughter
and her beau----thanks Jamie and Jeanette! This solid stout pours
a rugged coal black with a nice head of light tan foam that settles to
a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some nice lacing. Nose of
char, dark coffee, and dark cocoa. Flavors lightly exceed the nose with
dark cocoa, char, smoke, dark coffee, and dark roasted malts with a light
touch of caramel. Mouth feel is full, light carbonation, and a moderately dry
finish that is faintly watery.
Overall, a solid stout but could use a bit more body.
Cheers

The appearance was a gentle dark brown close to black color with a thin white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Some light stringy lacing slid into the body. The smell had a dry roasted coffee bean with a super light underscore of chocolate. The taste was dry, light chocolate with a lighter dose of the coffee bean. On the palate, this one came across right at a medium on the body. Sessionable? Maybe... Overall, this was a pretty good Irish Dry Stout worthy of having again.

On tap. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of chocolate malt, subtle coffee notes and a hint of smoke. I really expected quite a bit more smoke based on the name.

Pours a black color. 1/3 inch head of a tan color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of roasted malt, sweet malt, slight coffee, and slight smoke. Fits the style of an Irish Dry Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and creamy, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of coffee, sweet malt, slight roasted malt, hint of alcohol, and a hint of smoke. Overall, great appearance, decent body, good blend, great feel, and decent body.
