This is a little diamond in the rough. I stopped in after flying into Midway and was not disappointed. It looks like a little hole in the wall and is pretty small, but the selection is very good. Lots of good local stuff from Chicago breweries as well as some really nice selections from other national distro breweries.

My favorite liquor store. Hands down. I work nearby a couple of times a month and always stop in to see what's new - even though I already know what's there via their website,
"fresh report" email, frequently updated social media, and beer menus. Management and staff are all knowledgeable and very helpful, but they let you peruse the store without being aggressive. They have plenty to choose from - they don't have everything - but they always have an exceptional selection of beer, including rarities and 'whales'. One of my favorite things about Archer is that almost all of their beer can be purchased as a single bottle. I love to mix it up frequently & try new beers, but I also love to go back to beers I love without having to commit to a 4/6 pack at a time, so this is perfect for my purchasing habits. Another huge accolade is that they ship beer. They also carry a small amount of home brew equipment and ingredients - but it's very limited.

This is my go to spot for trying any new beer. What sets this place apart from others is that you can buy a single of any craft beer in the store. This a great way to try some of the pricier 4/6 packs without going broke.

Their beer prices are always very fair and most of the time lower than other places in the city.

This is a solid spot if you ever find yourself in the southside or near Midway airport.

Archer Liquors is a very good craft beer shop by Midway airport. I stopped by based on the BA reviews.

I was looking for something I couldn't get back in NC and managed to find some FFF Dreadnaught when no one else (including the brewery) had bottles for sale. They have a good selection of American and European in six packs and larger single bottles.

This is a pretty typical liquor store from a decor perspective. The atmosphere is nothing special but that doesn't detract from what they do.

I would definitely recommend this place. It was well worth the stop.

I made a few purchases online from Archer Liquors and all went great. They package mixed boxes on occasion and make limited quantities available, I was able to get a FFF mix pack which was great. You have to be part of their email list to be made aware of the packages available for purchase. You reserve your box through a quick online survey and they will contact you back to finalize payment. I got called back within an hour to wrap up my purchase. Save & quick shipping with good service. I was happy with the pricing as well. Check them out when you get the chance.

This store is about two miles from the hotel I'm staying at on a trip to Chicago, and is almost directly across the street from Midway airport. I stopped by today to pick up a few things not available in Ohio: Allagash, New Belgium, Port, Firestone, and my first bottles of Three Floyds :)

This has the look and feel of a corner liquor store which it is- but as soon as you walk in you can tell the selection is much better than average.

Service seemed okay- shortly after I walked in I was asked if I needed help with anything, but just said I was browsing and wasn't interrupted again.

Selection was well above average, though a bit unorganized. Cases were stacked everywhere, and some single bottles were near the cases, others on shelving towards the back of the store. A great selection of bombers/750s as well. There were some refrigerators but it seemed mostly for the Bud/Miller/Coors, with a few crafts thrown in.

Overall, if I lived nearby, I would definitely be a regular, and will certainly swing by again if in the area, though I'm not sure I would go out of my way to stop if just driving through town on the freeway.

Not the largest selection of craft beers from a quantity standpoint, but from a quality standpoint? Outstanding. Stopped in for the first time last night and walked away VERY impressed. One great feature? On craft beers you can take a single out of a six pack and do some sampling. Picked up several 12 oz. bottles and bombers rated 100 on http://ratebeer.com, including quite a few I have never tried. But being able to take home a single instead of a whole six pack makes me MUCH more willing to try something I haven't tried before, but am not quite sure about. This will definitely make my list of regular stores I stop at once every week or two to check out if anything new is available. They had several things I haven't seen anywhere else, so the guy who handles the beer knows his stuff extremely well.

Walked into here to create my own six pack of various craft brews. The man behind the counter was definitely helpful and very courteous to me. The selection of craft beer they have here is definitely decent, but not the biggest selection ever. They have plenty from stone brewing, dogfish head, and victory. There is definitely good quality craft beer here and the ability to mix and match any 12 oz bottle in the store is a godsend. There was also a small home brewing section with some materials for that. All in all I was happy with my random 6 pack and love that I could try 6 different beers for the price of 1 six pack. I will return here for sure if I am in the area.

This review is based on a shipping order placed by email and phone.

I thought the selection was very good being that I cannot get any of the beers available in hawaii. As far as pricing is concerned I thought very reasonable to very good, considering it would cost me an arm and a leg to fly to Chicago to pick up these brews and bring back to home. Service was excellent, emailed my order and Randy emailed me back the next day confirming order and saying when it would be ready to ship. He set up a time and day to call because of big time difference to finalize and pay for order. Everything went smoothly and was very impressed with the first class operation they run at Archer Liquors. Emailed my receipt confirming order. Shipping was very reasonable, as I had my order shipped to a friends house in Las Vegas. Randy runs a tight ship at Archer Liquors and would definitely order from them again soon. Hopefully Fedex gets off his ass.

I was first told about this place about 2 months ago and since then have probably been there about a half dozen times picking up random things.

Like previous raters the exterior doesn't have 'craft beer' written all over it and when you walk in you have to pass cases of BMC stacked to the ceiling but after that it transitions into a hidden gem of store. The store itself is pretty small but their selection is very solid and seems to grow every time I go in.

The best part of this store is they sell EVERYTHING in single form. It's a great service to those like me who homebrew and have gallons of everyday drinking beers on tap but want to pick a mix a six of random beers to review or just to pick up a few different seasonals available. The prices are a little below average and I commonly find their bomber prices a dollar or two below Binny's.

Another amazing perk and service to their customers is sometimes they will built mini verticals and sell them that way for a reasonable price. Just within the last few weeks they had a 3pk of Victory Old Horizontal (fresh, 1 year and 2 year old) for $8.99. a Bigfoot sixer (1x07,1x08,2x09,2x10) for $14.99 and a GL Blackout 4pk (07-10) for $15.99. I personally think it's an unbelievable service to your customers and gives those just getting into cellering a jumpstart on a few popular choices for only couple dollar premium. I personally picked up the Victory 3pk because I've never had that beer before and thought it $3/bottle for a mini vertical of a beer I've never had has a good choice considering fresh bottles are $2.59/each.

They are always updating their twitter and website whenever they get a new product in and informing special deals. They also do online ordering which works well from what I've heard but do not need to use that since I'm 10 minutes from the storefront.

They do have a homebrew section but from what I glanced at it was very slim, not a good selection (I didn't even see any ingredients) and I doubt sells that well. If you eliminate that the craft beer section could be expanded at least 25%. A suggestion would just to keep a small stock of homebrew stuff in the back for those who know you have it and can stop in in the event of a homebrewing emergency.

Overall a great little gem that seems to get better all the time and it's the first place I check to see if they have a new release in stock. Most of the time I don't even have to call because they will announce any new arrivals on twitter.

Stopped here the last week of December '09. Easy to drive right past the place. The area is ok and there is street parking and a lot. First impression is that it is selling a lot of cases of mass-produced beers. As you move past the first long aisle and head to the coolers, you will find a really good selection of craft beers and imports in the last two aisles before the coolers.

You will find Great Lakes, Victory, FFF, Founders, etc. Not well displayed so you need to hunt through the mixed cases for your personal treasures. The import selections are outstanding as well. You will need some time to work both sides of the aisles to hunt through the imports.

I did check out the homebrewing equipment as well. It was very limited and picked through. No extract, grain, hops. Not a homebrewing source.

Based on a shipping order by email and phone.

Found this place by searching on Google for a while. Selection on the website is very good with many beers from the East Coast and Midwest that I can't get in CA. Prices are more expensive for West Coast stuff(of course) but a little cheaper than other places I've ordered from for the rarities. I order some stuff from Three Floyds(Dreadnaught, BrooDoo, Alpha King, etc.) Shipping was about $17 and packaging was thorough(nothing broken). Overall I would say it was a good deal.

I really like this place and have told others about it. I will be ordering from here again.
