At Left Coast Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on being one of the pioneers of Double IPA style craft beer. This hop monster uses Premium American 2– Row and a touch of light crystal malt to create a solid malt foundation. Five different Hop Varieties are used in the Hop Juice. It spends two weeks dry hopping in fermenter contributing to its great hop aroma. Starts out sweet and finishes with the crisp bitterness of a Double IPA. This drinkable blend will have you HOPPING till nights end.

Looks good in the glass. Plenty of foamy/ rocky head. No hops in the nose. None. Zero. Smell of dirty feet instead. Took a sip and I can't taste any hops either. Maybe it's an old bottle but I don't think so. It's super hot/ boozy. I can hardly get this one down. What a huge disappointment.

16oz Can. Right on the money! Hits all tbe marks for a DIPA, and then some. Slightly hazy body, creamy head and thick lacing. Smooth piney hops backbone.

solid triple IPA. big, full mouth feel and a very sweet finish. smell is big and bold, pretty hoppy although it does have a dull quality too. taste is pretty great although it doesn’t wow. overall very high quality, doesn’t disappoint and it’s a good choice.

Pours orange, hazy with white head. Malty smell, malty taste, hops at end. No code date, tastes old. Mango, guava, caramel. Not for me, seems more like Malt Juice.

Pours an opaque yellow. Smell is pine, citrus, lemons. Taste is pine, citrus, lemons, spice, pepper. The hops are very upfront then they mellow out and the spice and earth come through. I was expecting more from the name.

It was good and alcohol not noticeable, but hops seemed muted. I expect more character and something a little special from a triple IPA! My preference is more hops forward and lighter on the malts.

This is a triple, and hides it well. 100 IBUs, but tastes more like a double around 65, which is a plus in my book. Over hopped is undeniable, and this is drinkable, but still very hoppy. Its dry hopped, and maybe that makes the difference. More like a hop slam, which I love. I usually shy from doubles so I can drink multiple, but this is pretty good.

22 oz. bottle - No freshness date, but it says freshest 30 days after purchase (which I find a bit odd because who knows how long it sits on the shelf - though in my case the owner of the reliable store I purchased it said it just came in, which I believe.)

ANYHOW - on to the review-

Pours slightly hazed golden with a fluffy white head. Lacing sticks.

The smell is of pine/resin with a hint of citrus and plenty of balancing caramel.

The taste is of pine with a hint of general citrus (grapefruit). Strong caramel backing, but not enough to cover the bitter hop goodness. Sweet-leaning from the start through the middle. Sweetness gives way to dry bitterness in the finish. Boozy but not too hot considering the 10% abv as noted on the bottle.

It hits full-body. Smooth for the high alcohol level, though some heat does linger, but so does the flavor.

A strong sipper. A load of hops and malt. A good choice for an aggressive Imperial IPA.

Fairly nice imperial ale but unfortunately it seemed a little too aged and the hops had faded somewhat, leaving too strong of a malt presence. Looks nice, slightly hazy darker amber-orange color with some fluffy white head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells of mildly ripe fruit hops - grapefruit, tangerine, lemon and mango. Also some malt, caramel, vanilla and more faint floral hops at the end. Taste follows the nose, I just didn't quite like the balance with some overpowering malt sweetness. Smooth, mild, surprisingly full mouthfeel without too much stickiness. Good carbonation. A little disappointing since the hoppy bitterness seemed to have completed faded into the background.
