Appearance- copper color, very thin head

Smell- piney hops, some malt

Taste- piney hops, some malt, some slight bitterness

Mouthfeel- medium bodied

Drinkability- I thought it was pretty good. I would have it again. Overall, I would say it is a bit above average. Not the worst but not the best, still good enough to drink again.

Pours a nice deep orange color with a nice head with good lacing. Smells hoppy with a lot of fruit in there as well. Tastes less hoppy than it smells. Not very smooth. Lots of bitterness in the aftertaste.

Overall looks much better than it tastes. Probably wouldn't try again.

A: Very pleasing yellow-orange with an immediate head that dissipates in a minute or two, and could have stuck around a bit more. Mild white lacing.

S: For a 9.7% abv, there's not much alcohol in the smell. It's a pretty balanced smell, on the whole. For a beer called "hop juice" it's not especially hoppy.

T: Oh yeah, it's an IPA. But "hop juice" is exaggerating a bit. The beer isn't crazy-bitter...actually, I think my tongue stayed sweet longer than it stayed bitter. Actually, the taste is really great, just not a "hop monster". I prefer a more balanced IPA and honestly hadn't been especially looking forward to popping this bottle. In reality, this beer has a kind of carmel sweetness that isn't usual for an DIPA. If you bought this for the name and you're a real hop-head, you might be disappointed. Personally, I think there's more to beer than making it as hoppy as possible, and this is really great...disregarding the name...

M: Creamier than a lot of IPAs, it stuck...and lingered...on my tongue. About as full-bodied as a hop-centric beer can be and not overwhelm. In my opinion, this is where the beer shines.

O: It's hop-centered, but you can find much more hoppy brews. Disregard the name and you'll find a really great beer with a lot to offer! Toasty, sweet, malty, bitter. There's a lot here.
