I bought a bomber of Hop Juice in a bottle store. $7.99 Poured in to a pint glass.

Pours a deep honey/gold color and slightly cloudy. Creamy one-finger head.

Smell is a strong sweet citrus aroma.

Taste is a bitter cereal flavor up front, with a bitter citrus and pine finish.

Mouthfeel is full-bodied, with moderate carbonation, and a silky smooth texture.

Overall a drink able DIPA, but too much ABV to be sessionalble.

Pale copper and clear, with one finger head that settles to a decent, even layer atop the drink. Laces like a grandma from Bruges. Somewhat piney but mostly citrus and floral in aroma. Malt is a little spicy. Thought it might have some rye in there, but the aroma is too "clear" to have rye in it. Malt and hops are neck and neck, balancing each other out. Pale, dry malt hits the tongue and takes hold with bitter hop reinforcements following soon after. Very grassy hop flavor yields to a nectary, almost sweet hop oil. Bitterness is serious and stays a while. Balanced feel with a dry finish.

I like that this beer takes the American 2 row and runs with it. Recently, I've had double IPAs that have a very orangeish flavor to it. But this one is lighter in flavor with a good body to back it up. Seems more traditional, even though the DIPA style hasn't been around too long.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a snifter, no bottled date. This pours an amber color with a decent sized off white head which dissipates to a pinky thin line. The smells are of pine, grapefruit, alcohol, some sugar. The feel is medium a little thinner than most iipa. The taste is mostly good, lots of bitter hops, but a very noticeable alcohol taste.

22oz bottle. Pours a dark amber translucent color with a thin layer of head. Some lacing. Aroma is sweet resinous hops with some citrus. Taste is pithy grapefruit and oily, resinous hops. Some pine. Its a bitter Double IPA but there is some malt flavor. A bit of an oily mouthfeel. Not too hot considering the ABV is almost 10. Drinks well even with the bitterness. Overall, its a decent Imperial Ipa that I wouldnt mind having again.

A: Very cloudy, orange tinted, island of foam with sticky icky lacing.

S: Unusually sweet smelling for a DIPA.. cotton candy, cherry, alcohol, candied dried fruit. Reminds me more of a barleywine than a DIPA. Intriguing.

T: Initial blast of sweetness, pineapple, mandarin orange followed by a good blast of piney resiny hop.

M: The pine bitterness really lingers after each sip. I didn't detect much hotness on the tongue than I did on the nose.

O: I think this one could be labeled a barleywine and probably have a higher rating. I like this one.

Back on tap, finally, after years of not having it at Oggis.

Light amber gold, not much head, but it's on tap. What head there is shrank into a ring and decorated my glass generously.

Smells of grapefruit and pine, pungently so. Not much else is detectable, which is fine by me.

Taste is exactly as the smell, piney, grapefruit, pithy citrus. This is what I look for in a DIPA. The bitter is big and delicious.

Texture has that nice hop bite, alcohol is barely noticeable.

For years this has been one of my favorites, and it doesn't disappoint.
