Bottle I shared at Skuter's UCLA vs. USC viewing party.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, char, and some slight cocoa aromas. Taste is much the same with a mild roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

This beer pours an opaque jet black with a nice amount of creamy tan head that leaves a nice ring of lacing on the glass.

On the nose I pick up a nutty pecan pie smell with some bready malt, not much roasted flavor going on, more nutty than anything, maybe a little bit of coffee, No hop profile.

Flavor wise its got a nice balanced roasted coffee flavor with a tiny tiny bit of hoppy bite on the finish. Its pretty thin for a stout though, finished on the wet side.

Decent stout, smells and looks great, nothing really special though.

There are so many great stouts out there that the Voo Doo is middle of the pack at best. All stouts pretty much look the same, so lets move to aroma. There was an odd chemical component to the Voo Doo aroma, which was a low point. Flavor was ample in chocolate and vanilla, but dry and rough around the edges. An OK beer overall, but with so many other wonderful stouts to drink, I will not reach for a Voo Doo again.

pours a deep chocolate brown. With an aggressive pour i can get about a fingers worth of head. It's mocha coloured and fairly dense.
Aroma smells nice with rich roasted malts coffee beans and chocolate.
The flavor sports roasted malts which have a slightly burnt taste. I like. you can pull out some coffee and dark chocolate too if you wantb but i think that is a result of the malts.
On the palette it drinks smooth but there is a bit of an ashen feel around the edges which is not a problem for me.
A good stoudt to be had.

The beer pours a dark brown to black color with a tan head. The aroma is full of chocolate and heavily roasted malt, with a little bit of cream thrown in. The flavor is similar. There is a lot of roasted malt and a hint of smoke, along with a ton of chocolate. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A nice, straightforward stout that is easy to drink.

Bottle shared by Jason (jrallen34). Served in a tulip of some sort.

A - Mocha foam settles to a thick collar, some wisps, and minimal lacing. Body is black, and quite dark for a lower-ABV stout.

S - Biscuit, chocolate, light roast. Seems somewhat aged, with a bit of earthy and slightly stale hops.

T - Taste is again heavy on chocolate and biscuit, giving this a mild Twix vibe. Low roast flavor and bitterness, and again the same slightly oxidized character.

M - Roasty and chewy, medium body. Dry texture, minimal alcohol presence, and medium-low carbonation. Quite easy to drink.

D - It is what it is, a solid but unexceptional American stout that probably lingered on a shelf for too long for its lower ABV to warrant. Probably wouldn't bother revisiting this even if I could find a fresher example - shame on Left Coast for not bottle dating.
