Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams "Perfect Pint" glass.
Appearance: Pours a deep copper golden orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Solid three fingers of white head with good retention. Leaves a good amount of creamy lacing around the glass.
Smell: A bright and crisp hop forward aroma with some nice hints of fruit and grass. Citrus hop esters up front with hints of pulpy orange peel, grapefruit, mango, and lemon. Earthy and herbal hops aroma with hints of grass and a little pine resin. Malts in background with hints of bready biscuit, grains, caramel, and yeast. A little hint of candy like sugar. A solid hoppy aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a crisp and juicy taste of citrus and grassy hops with some grainy malt. Juicy taste of citrus upfront with notes of orange pulp, grapefruit, mango, and lemon zest. Earthy and herbal hop taste with notes of grass and pine spice. Solid bready background with notes of grains, biscuit, caramel, and yeast along with a slight hint of candy sugar. A pretty good West Coast taste.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, juicy, and pretty smooth and drying.
Overall: A pretty solid West Coast style IPA. A little lighter on the body but still good hop flavor.

I've never been a big fan of the other Left Coast Ipa's, but this new addition to the L.C. line is really enjoyable and easy to drink. Perfect for the person who enjoys a clean, piney, fruit IPA with a low malt content.
No smoke, no caramel, no butterscotch, just pine needle goodness, high hops and low aftertaste. This beer isn't really complicated, and I say that in a good way.

Mild orange appearance, good soapy head to it. Aroma was minimally citrus. Not the biggest, if any degree of dry hopping on this one.
Easy drinking ipa, average bitterness, hopping, caramel. Standard recipe and delivery. Carbonation was fine. Citrus cedes to pine flavor. Not really a whole lot to speak of, a run of the mill ipa at a decent price. Probably wouldn't buy it again since there are so many options out there. Definitely wouldn't turn down one of 'em either though.
