Clear, chestnut colour with some yeasty bits in suspension. Big, big malty nose - more the barley wine than a Tripel. some faint phenolic in there, but it's a long way short of Cinq Cents. Some faint, perhaps stale hop in there, and a good bitterness.

Pours an orangey-red with heavenly thick white sheet of lacing, nice bit of head. Just looks sticky, alcoholic and delicious.
Smells like a heavily alcoholic botrytis. Deliciously sweet and sticky. Ohhhh, decadent and guilty. Hell yes.
Taste is the shit. Sweet and sticky, you can tell it's alcoholic but you don't care because it's very delightful drinking. Toffeed caramel and oh just sweet wonderful shit. Bit of a nasty finish mars an otherwise bomb of deliciousness.
Alcohol is obvious on the mouthfeel but is still very smooth. This beer gets you drunk.

a: amber color with good carbonated activity, good head settles nicely and leaves some lacing
s: very sweet malts, plums
t: sweet malts are tasted right away along with a good balance of hops (very small hoppy finish), caramel in there somewhere, warming alcohol throughout. reminds me of a light barleywine
m: plenty of carbonation, medium body, almost chewy, very smooth
d: balance in this one makes it very easy drinking at 9.6%. this is 3rd installment of their anniversary beer & i really hope they bottle this one soon, along with some of their other big beers.

This is the brewery's 1st anniversary ale. May become a regular beer but for now I figure it's a one-off.
Malty spicy and yeasty nose. Also a significant dose of candi sugar aroma.
On the dark side for a tripel (amber) Big thick head.
Sweet and malty start and finish. Just enough hops to keep it drinkable instead of sugary sweet. Like a lot of good tripels, hides its alcohol really well. There's not hint from the flavor of its 9%.
Slightly warming, medium bodied. Very drinkable for a beer this strong.
On tap, it was served too cold. As it warmed up it was much more complex.
