Bright clarity sunshine gold with streams of rapidly rising carbonation. Swirling spiral of skim on the surface. Thin ring of foam at the edges.

Faint apple cinnamon scent. Flavor follows suit, light apple and cinnamon flavors, kind of like apple pie. Light papery malt, possibly slightly oxidized, but still not compromising the taste. Clean and mellow, well carbed and light feeling. Crisp and quenching, finishes dry not sweet. Tasty and probably the best Brazilian beer of the day. Obrigado Paulo e Duda!

Side note: I hate ginger, and detected none in this beer...

From a 600 mL bottle, thanks Jon,

A: Pours gold with blissful full white head, leaving clumps of spotty lace.

S: Sugar cane and cinnamon apples.

T: Golden cinnamon apples, sugary, but not over the top. Lots of hefty bready malt to back it all up. Good balance.

M: Crisp, bright and clean, light-bodied, refreshing.

O: A beer that would be perfectly suited to summer. Very solid and a unique take on a style that is all too pedestrian a lot of the time.

I've overlooked Baden Baden Golden for a couple of reasons; it's a golden ale and so what, and their portfolio offers so many interesting styles of beer. But after digging a little deeper, I found that the Golden receives a few special ingredients to the recipe, so this many not be the standard and plain golden ale. Just another beer to come by way of Sergio, to which I reply "muito obrigado!" On to the beer:

Like the name , this beer is a light golden color with good lace ringing around the glass. I knew there would be cinnamon and "green fruits" as the label suggested, but the marriage is a winner, at least in the nose. Cinnamon and crisp green apples appear right before your nose. The cinnamon appears to give the apple notes a spiced apple aspect. It smells more like the preparation of an apple pie than a beer.

In the taste, the additional spiced apples and cinnamon take on a perfumy characteristic. They're dominant flavors, yet they're not. There's still a solid backbone of a slighly sweet and bready pale malt. It's light bodied and very crisp with a rather clean finish, which helps make this already refreshing beer more impressive.

Baden Baden Golden is a beauty on its own. It may not appear to be as sexy as their stout of red ale, but definately give it a chance and it will reward you.

Had a chance to try the Baden Baden Golden Ale at Figiera Restaurant in Sao Paulo. The Golden ale poured yellow and was clear. White head was present at the beginning then faded over time. The smell had waffes of spice/ginger and citrus undertones. The taste was dominated by spice/ginger and was very sweet. The mouthfeel was downgraded slightly due to the sweet and ginger overpowering taste.

Amber golden color with a thick head with descent retention and leaving some laces.
Predominant fruity aroma with strong notes of cinnamon rolls.
Spicy flavor with hints of honey, cinnamon rolls are also all over it. Notes of citrus, apple juice, ginger and berries. Mildly dry aftertaste.
A bit watery body, with a strong carbonation to hide it. Very crisp and refreshing.
A bit too light, but if you ignore this, it is quite interesting given the cinnamon tweak. Alcohol could be increased in 1 or 2 percent, more malt and adequate hoping also wouldn’t harm, this would help to counterbalance the cinnamon. Nevertheless, I found it very drinkable and the bottle went down quickly.

A 4.5% ABV beer.

A: Pours a golden yellow to orange color. Clear. Forms a big aired bubbles white head with very good retention and many lacings formed and left

S: Nice in the nose. A grainy, spicy and refreshing smell. Very strong smell of cinnamon. Notes of honey and dark fruits. Flowery hops

T: A sweet, fruity, spicy and grainy beer. Strong taste of cinnamon. Notes of honey, sweet malts and citrus hops. In overall, a slightly sweet beer with a grainy taste and a light bitterness

M: Light body and good carbonation. Mild bitter end

O: Good drinkability. Good beer

Poured at Anhanguera Bar into a baden baden glass. Poured a golden color with egg white foamy head. The smell was of cinnamon, corranider, and citrus. The taste was citrus mixed with cinnamon, and light floral hop flavor. Mouthfeel was creamy with a satin like carbonation level. This beer would make an excellent session beer and like many of Baden Baden beers is world class.

A: Pours a golden orange with a thick white head with good retention.

S: Fruit and cinnamon bouquet, very smooth but pretty good.

T: This beer is very refreshing, with a soft fruity taste with a great touch of cinnamon, no bitterness at all, some malts can be found.

M: Watery in the begginning with a very clear cinnamon aftertaste. The high carbonation contributes to the spicy feel too.

O: A very unique beer, its use of cinnamon makes this beer remarkable, but at same time, its watery body, and absence of bitter hops, make this beer very plain. Great as a session beer with good drinkability, but to soft for anyone who want some hops and bitterness.

I found the cinnamon in the initial aroma and aftertaste, but in a subtle way; particularly, do not think it compromised the beer. Is stamped as Ale, but I thought it was a weaker Weiss, whatever. Curiosity killed, but this price does not stare back.

A neighbor brought this back from Brazil for me.

It comes in a 600ml bottle at 4.5%ABV. I poured this into a new Sam Adam's glass.

Appearance: A finger-width thick, densely foam head. Lots of tiny bubbles rising at first with the head disappearing in a minute or so to just a thin layer. As I sip I see little to no lacing. The brew is a little cloudy with a light-medium amber color.

Smell: Cinnamon hits me first with some nutmeg and a bready/yeasty character. I had assumed it would be along the lines of a Wit when trying to decipher the label.

Taste: Cinnamon hits me first, and I was still surprised, despite the aroma. A slightly fruity, apple taste. My wife thought "apple pie" when she tried it. Almost no hops flavors, at least not enough for me to make a guess as to the type of hops. A malty sweet/spicy taste. Every time I have a sip I find myself going back for more a couple seconds later.

Mouth feel: The mouth feel isn't exciting. A slightly filmy feel with little excitement from the bubbles. It sticks just a bit to my tongue but I don't mind, though after the first glass it's starting to stick to the back of my tongue a bit more. It's also feeling more dry than I assumed it would... the aroma and taste make me believe it should be the opposite.

Drinkability: Well, I can't stop drinking this bottle, and 600ml gives me two full glasses. I could see drinking this on a nice spring or summer day, and could have probably around 3 or 4 glasses, but that's about the limit. Not a session beer, but still an easy beer to drink. I take sip after sip, but only small ones to try and stretch it out.
