This is not how it should have happened. No, just no. I met some girls at Blumenau's Oktoberfest a year back, who incidently live just 10 minutes west of Cervejaria Sudbrack. With communication strengthening between our party's as my stay in Blumenau neared, I envisioned a day of drinking German-Brazilian beers with these lovely German-Brazilian girls at arguably THE jewel of Blumenau. How much happier could one gringo get?
That was just a fantasy. Back to reality, the reunion probability went to shit on the day of our meeting. No girls, bah! This meant drinking alone, and alone I went. The pub doesn't open until 4pm, and not surprisingly is dead for the first hour. But it's real nice inside. The air conditioning provided a much needed refreshment from the uncomfortable Blumenau summer. The interior is intimate and dark, with displays of beer memorabilia towards the ceiling. The brewery itself lays just behind a window, which is available to tour every half hour. Word of warning; you will sweat your balls off during the tour, and not even a half-full glass of Eisenbahn Pilsen will beat the heat.
The menus are bilingual, in English as well as Portuguese. Traditional German fare is offered as reasonable prices (and is reasonable quality), all of Eisenabhn's in-season beers are available to drink (more than a dozen total), including Lust Prestige and 5 Anos. Of all the beers however, only four of them are available on-tap. However, the serving quality of the beers are very good, and with nearly every beer with its own piece of glassware, makes presentation much more fancy. Most bottles run for R$5, with 300 ml drafts at a very reasonable R$4.30.
The brewery that made Blumenau famous lives up to the hype after years of anticipating a visit. It finally happened. Anyone who consideres themself a beer geek and is driving around the Itajaí Valley needs to type 5181 Rua Bahia into their GPS and follow that route!

Really one of the greatest places to drink good beer (if not the best) in Blumenau, SC. The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. There is a small outdoor environment in the front of the bar with a couple of large tables and an indoor environment, with a small bar balcony in the right side and the factory itself right ahead. You can see the beer tanks through a large glass wall.
Service takes some time, specially for serving food (which is also great), but it's not that bad. Very friendly people, by the way. There is a small store inside the bar, where you can buy Eisenbahn stuff like t-shirts, glassware and of course, beers.
They serve all the beers produced in the factory (Dunkel, Kölsch, Pale Ale, Pilsen, Weiss, Organic Pilsen, Weinachts Ale, Weizenbock, Rauchbier) and some of them are on tap (Dunkel, Weiss, Pilsen and Pale Ale if I remember correctly). Sometimes a master brewer's ale special edition is available, which is some sort of strong pale ale, but without the belgian charm :-)
Overall, a great place to visit if you are in Brazil, hanging around Santa Catarina and looking for good beer. It gets even more interesting if you get there by October, when the world's second largest oktoberfest takes place there.

this is a pub attached to the beer factory. it's quite small, but a very nice place. the food is great, and four styles of beer are served on tap (dunkel, weinzebier, pilsen and pale ale). all of the beer styles are also available in bottles (those include kölsch, weizenbock, and organic pilsen).
two or three times a week there's a germanic band playing live music, and the service is great.
you can also buy glassware, and souvenirs (t-shirts, beer mats, etc...).
definetely my favourite place to drink beer.
