Presentation: 12 oz vintage style brown bottle with no freshness date.

Appearance: Deep reddish copper colour with a minimal spritzy lace ... a soda like apperance.

Smell: Freshly juiced strawberries with a balance between the sweet and the tart.

Taste: Light bodied and champagne like, smooth yet lively carbonation. Tartness gets a little assertive though this brew lends some sweet strawberry flavour also. Barley any beer characteristics, a touch of grain from middle to back that mingles with a woody leaf taste in the back. Aftertaste is surprisingly clean.

Notes: Similar wine cooler charateristics as the Apricot though a bit more tart and a pinch closer to a lambic style brew for the Strawberry. An excellent dessert beer, goes well with strawberry cheese cake.

This pours a slightly hazed, pink tinted, orange body with a small, offwhite, head that is shortlived. Sparse, patchy lace is left on the glass.
Aroma is pleasing, with tart and sweet strawberries overpowering a mild, caramel malt backbone.
Mouthfeel features effervescent carbonation and a light to medium body.
The taste is very strawberry..tart, sweet, and genuine. Caramel malt is picked up underneath, and provides a solid backbone. No hops presence is noted. The finish and aftertaste are also dominated by tart and sweet strawberries. Very nice if you're looking for a strawberry beer with a low alcohol content.
This is one dimensional in its berry character, but that seems to be the goal the brewery is aiming for. A low alcohol, strawberry beer that is very tasty, with light caramel malt undertones, that provides an authentic, strawberry flavor. Very well done, and an excellent dessert beer.

Clear dark amber, definitely not Framboise-like (supposedly an inspiration for Melbourn brews). White somewhat lacy head that clings a bit but is down to a skim in a minute or so. Strawberry soda aroma, so far, a little cartoonish. But...the flavor is better -- medium body with a syrupy sense that can get cloying but has a full fruit impression of sweetness and sourness. Slight astringency and a little bit of puffy esters mid mouth but finishing with fruit and an un-expected black strap molasses pop. I can't rate this as outstanding, or maybe I'm not qualified, but this beats "mass market" Lambics and things like Leinenkugel's Berry Weis by a country mile.

Pours an amber tone with a pink haze over the body of this beer's hue, an off white red tinted foaming head as well. Lacing here is very nice with full rings. Aromatic qualities to note would be the lucious amounts of strawberry juice that is so quaffable. Very tasty and tart with the strawberries a bit on the sour side but very good sweetness, like a dessert beer. Mouthfeel this one has a medium body fizzy carbonation not too bad at all. Drinkability, well I don't honestly think I could drink alot of this stuff but for one it's a nice pleasant surprise not usually a big fan of fruit beers in general especially strawberry but this one hit me right for some reason

This beer pours light brown with a pink tint to it. It has a white/pink head that fades slowly, leaving a few laces.

This beer smells like a sparkling strawberry cider. It smells very sweet. I think the strawberry aroma is just a little overpowering.

This beer tastes like carbonated strawberry juice. It is slightly sour also. Not much else to it.

This beer is very carbonated. It leaves a strawberry sweet aftertaste.

I am nt sure that this would be a good session beer. It is just too sweet. It was nice to try it once though.

(Served in a tulip glass)

A- This beer has a dark shoe polish brown body with a white thin head that fades after a bit.

S- The smell of homemade strawberry jam is strong and dominates the smell even during the pour.

T- The first flavor is strawberry jam with a faint tart cherry hint in the background. The finish is a sweet jam note with a carbonic bite.

M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with a dry finish.

D- This is all about the strawberries and the sweetness upfront and dryness in the finish balance a bit. It would be nice to have a bit more malt or alcohol flavors to contrast the berries. I like deserts and fruit so this was not bad for both and I like jam.

Appearance: Deep brown-amber pour, topped by a frothy, pink-tinged, off-white head that fades quickly with minimal lace.
Smell: Sweet ripe strawberries, with whiffs of candied raspberry and tart cranberry. Amazingly, some sweet malt does poke through all of this fruit.
Taste and mouthfeel: Starts with syrupy-sweet berry juice, then a puckery tartness suddenly rides the fizzy carbonation to the top. Finish dries somewhat with a lingering lambic-like tartness, and ever-present strawberry essence.
Drinkability: Pricey... but I'd have this again with a big ol' slice of cheesecake!

Pours amber, almost reddish... with nil head. Smell and taste are both very much strawberry, very tart and very sweet. I swear I detected the smallest amount of hops (and maybe even barley), maybe it was my mind playing tricks on me, but it seemed like there was a touch of a green flavor in a couple of sips. That, and the very high level of carbonation was the only thing that made this seperated this from a wine cooler. Compared to a wine cooler, I would pick this 10 for 10. Compared to nearly any other beer on the planet, I would take a regular beer 99 out of 100. That being said, they hit the mark on the given style for sure.

Murky amber rust with a loose and sparce white lacing.
Strawberry juice nose with figments of dates, vanilla beans, and Swiss cheese.
Fruitiness, again, is king. The Strawberry hues are clearer, cleaner, and better pronounced that those in the Apricot. This is straight-up strawberry jam. The middle find hints of earth, pink grapefruit acidity, and grapenuts. It fades out with a solid canvas and berry cooler sugariness.
The carbonation is brighter here and keeps the heavy-sweet body from hanging unwelcomely.
It's more or less a berry spritzer with traces of lambic dirt. Hard to call it, but it is better than the Apricot on all accounts.

A - Dull cloudy purple with a nice finger of pink foam. Lots of really nice lace is left on the glass, making it look like a pink frosted window in winter.

S - Authentic fresh strawberries, tart fruit juice, strawberry jam, and a hint of strawberry candy...the kind that comes in a strawberry wrapper. The emphasis here is on the jammy strawberry jelly notes. Nice.

T - Again, tart and really jammy. This tastes exactly like strawberry preserves spread over white bread toast with even a hint of butter. Very nicely done.

M - Light bodied, tart, acidic, slightly sugary...but still relatively crisp.

D - A very good stab at fruit beer...which is pretty hard to get right IMO. This is sweeter and heavier than a lambic, but way more authentic and "real" than most American fruity-tootie beers marketed to young women.

Aroma: Sweet Tart Strawberry Jolly Rancher Candy with hints of watermelon. Slight Horse Blanket/Barnyard with hints of Pale Malt.

Appearance: Clear Orangish Reddish Pink with a faint Pinkish White Head.

Flavor: Tart, Barnyard/Horse blanket Balanced with Pale Malts and a delicate Strawberry flavor and aged hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium-Light Body, Medium Carbonation.

Overall Impression: A wonderful Spontaneous Fermented Beer (Beer that is exposed to the surrounding open air to allow natural/wild yeast and bacteria to literally infect the beer). Basically tastes like a Belgian Lambic that is balanced with a perfect strawberry flavor. If you aren't a beer connoisseur you would probably think this was a wine cooler.

This is a tough one to rate in the typical beer fashion. It looks, tastes and smells of strawberry. To me it is more like a sparkling strawberry juice than a beer. It does work well as a dessert beer, but is pretty much worthless for anything else. Worth a shot, yes. Worth the $6 it usually sells for, hell no.

Pours copper with pink foam that ends up as 1 finger of cream & a touch of pink colored head. Average head retention & above average lacing

S: Berries & a bit of metallic hops. More of the same in the middle, I also get some raspberry. Finishes dry with slight tartness, a touch of iron & more strawberries

T: Strawberries & tartness up front.

MF: Very rich when you consider the ABV, very low carbonation

Drinks pretty good, not my thing. But I could see sucking back a few with dessert or cheese. Fruit beer fans will dig this

Found on shelves at Oak Hill liquor in Austin, hadn't seen it back home in Houston. 12oz bottle.

Appearance-Amber, cloudy, very carbonated. No head, just lacy traces around edge. Very appetizing.

Smell- Strawberry shortcake! reminds me of the filling you buy at the store to add to your berries when making shortcake/pie/cake with strawberries. The berries are all you can smell on this one.

Taste-very sweet. The berry flavor is a more natural one than the nose, as it tastes as if the strawberry is crushed right in! After searching found a bit of malt underneath. Simple in flavor, a tad sweet for my taste, but good in flavor itself.

Mouth-feel- Thin in body but prickly with the sweet flavor. it has a little pucker in it.

Overall-a good dessert beer, glad I tried it, but probably won't buy this one just to drink again. I would recommend it however. Much better than much of it's competition.

The beer looks like liquid strawberries should (and I don't mean that blenderized mess that goes into tropcial drinks). Golden with slight hazy muddy red, almost dark apricot colored. Pretty large head with a reddish (thankfully not pinkish) tint- very nice to look at. And a sweet-tart aroma that follows through in the flavor that says Strawberries are here! I note honey, flowery, almost-too-sweet-to-make-my-teeth-ache flavors, but even so, it's pretty good.

I like this, although it's too sweet for me to want to drink very often.

Pours out kinda flat with a reddish root beer color.
Not much head and no lacing here.
Smell is all Strawberry. Not much else except for lots of sugar.
Taste is strawberry with lots of sugar. Way too sweet but still not bad.
Mouthfeel is very clean with such a sugary taste.
All in all, a pretty good beer but way too sweet.

12 oz fat bottle with an extra long neck. "Beer with Stawberry Juice Added" right on the label.

A clear shiny golden ruby color under a creamy white head. Head didn't stay long but laced the glass nicely. An aroma right on a fresh picked basket of strawberries.
Taste was tart and sweet combination of strawberry flavors. Not fizzy, or fuzzy like other fruit beers. This one is creamy, rich full bodies feel. Very even. Tart crisp and refreshing finish. Very dry, and leaves you ready for another sip. Just like the apricot version, but stawberry flavor is more appealing to me.

A perfect end of the night beer. I think it's every bit as good as the apricot version.
(I am just about finished with the stock of fruit beers from the summer, whew.)

As much as I like Lindemans Lambics, I think I’ve found another brewery producing some quite quaffable brews. The pour is a striking “Strawberry red” color, the head immature, and the lace adequate to cover the glass. The nose is loaded with the aromas of over ripe strawberries also sweet and quite appealing. Ambrosial start, with an accompanying light tartness, the top skinny in feel and the finish astringent and the hops hidden under the strawberry sweetness, the aftertaste dry and sweet, quite a treat especially as an after dinner aperitif.

This beer poured a cloudy copper color with a thick rocky head that lasted a while. The smell is strong of strawberry. The taste is sweet and fruity (strawberry) with some malt noticeable. There isn’t much of a hop flavor detectable. The mouthfeel is medium. This is a good example of a fruit beer which would be quite drinkable to those that like the style (or strawberries).

Served via Bottle at Old Chicago in Evansville, IN

A New Lambic? Surely you jest. My wife and I had two of these puppies (she loves the Lindemanns- I just love beer) We had them with cheesecake- a perfect pairing. I'm getting ahead of myself.

Interesting shaped bottle, like a Red Stripe made sweet unprotected love to a giraffe. It says spontanteous fermentation in the bottle, and who knows how they're doing that- or if it is really true.

Pours a gorgeous ruby. Just sit and look at it for a while. If you do, it won't be long before you get hit with berries, berries and more berries. Strawberries that is. This is not a beer that has any pretense about what it is. It is a strawberry beer. Not much head, and the foam was lighter than I might have enjoyed.

Note: Enjoyment of this beer will vary with enjoyment of strawberries. The numbers up there really are just a measurement of how much I like strawberries. This beer does the SB justice. No doubt.

Taste: strawberrys. I was digging and swishing for something else, a glimpse of general hops and malt (I thought?!) but it could have been a hallucination for sure. Strawberry. Very slight taste of syrup. Very sweet. Once it is in your mouth you will consider pouring it from your glass unto your dessert.

Mouthfeel: Nectary, if pleasant. Perhaps as the diabetes sets in your mouth is distracted by all the sweetness receptors on Defcon Alpha.

Drinkability: This is a one time desert beer. If I order cheesecake at the Old Chicago again, like my waistline says I shouldn't, I will order this to go with it. Otherwise, no more Melbourn Bros for me.

Rose color. Not much head.

Smell is fruity , no hops or malt are evident.

Taste is predominately strawberry, some residual sweetness.

Mouthfeel is medium , tangy aftertaste. Good carbonation.

Drinkability suffers a bit, with the sweetness and lack of beer tastes. Overall an interesting beer, somewhat of a wine cooler.

Poursa a light brownish amber mix with a fizzy pinkish/white head that falls fast to a small ring no lacing really.

Aroma is fruity strawberries some acidic aromas mixed in like a dry sherry of something.

Taste is sweet strawberries syrupy almost some carbonation makes the finish zesty little acidy, not really dry. Over all no malt no hops what gives says malt hops yeast on the bottle.

Mouthfeel is not bad medium little syrupy feeling but more to do with the flavor then the feel I think.

Drinkability is well try anything once, its not really bad but then again doesn't really taste remotely like beer either, more like a strawberry wine cooler with a low ABV.
