Picked up as part of a mixed six pack for $10.98 from the Ingles cooler on Spartanburg Hwy in Flat Rock 8-19-21. Canned 6-22-21; consumed 10-27-21. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured gold with a solid white head that is leaving lacing behind.
Nose is floral hops with a touch of citrus.
Taste is a moderate pale malt base that is infused by some alpha hopping that present as woody and piney with a touch of grapefruit. Finishes bitter; 8/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and refreshing.
Overall an old school 1990's use of hops with the focus on how bitter can we get this beer. Palate is in a bit of shock LOL! But a beer i would have again as the Pisgah team does a nice job with keeping their brews clean!

A fine foam head is golden white, rising to two inches and holding for a long while. Clouds of itty-bitty carbonation sparkle as they slowly meander upwards to reinforce the head. A thick webbing of lace forms rings on the small, "Sparkles", PBGC Dimpled mug. The beer is clear and dark gold with amber depths. And the head is still there with only a few sips to go.
The aroma is similar to grassy pine straw, with plenty of orange pith. Floral notes are mild and give way to orange zest.
Slightly more bitter than sweet, with both being fairly high. Caramel malt is also prevalent with grapefruit pith. Pinesap is present, particularly before a long, dry finish that accentuates the bitterness.
With a medium body and slick cotton texture, the carbonation is surprisingly creamy. Alcohol is as expected, and there is a light astringency that builds with warmth.
This is a fine IPA. I imagine it will pair better with a warm sunny day than this cool, overcast winter afternoon.

I really like the taste of this NC mountain beer. Piney and hoppy without major dry mouth afterwards. I like to start out with something lighter like a Carlsberg and graduate to this later in the session. It's a nice finisher.

This is good stuff if you like IPAs. If you don't like IPAs, then..... you need to get right. Work on yourself. Color: I don't know; I drank it from the can 'cause I'm lazy, and if I dirty up a glass, I'll just have to wash it. Life's too short to wash dishes. Smell: If it was cologne, I'd wear nothing else. Taste: Perfect blend of citrus and pine. Mouth Feel: Mild and kinda creamy, in a good way. No burn. Very drinkable. I really enjoyed it.

Pours amber with an off white head.
Citrus, floral, and tropical fruit - mango, star fruit - in the nose.
Citrus lemon and orange, followed by star fruit and mango, flowing to a sweet bread malt.

Short and sweet, just what you'd expect from an IPA. Nothing remarkable either positive nor negative about this one. I would purchase it again, but would not be my first IPA choice

Thanks to Bradaplast for sending this one! Reviewed from (very long-standing) notes. Poured from a 12 oz. can into a Cigar City Brewing pint glass.
A: Medium gold and modestly hazy. Forms a thin but dense white head with good retention. Average visible carbonation.
S: Resinous and herbaceous hops. Bready malts with a bit of caramel sweetness. An unexciting but inoffensive nose.
T: More malt-forward than expected - bready and some caramel again. Resin hops with a touch of citrus rind and vegetal flavor, but the hops seem to stay below the malt flavors. Mild oxidative cardboard here as well. It finishes fairly balanced with lingering citrus rind and some ethanol heat as well. There's a tinny metallic flavor here also, which gets more pronounced as it warms.
M: Average heft to the body. A low enough level of carbonation sensation that it detracts some. The alcohol flavors seem overly prominent for an IPA.
O: This can, at least, was really quite subpar. I hate judging a beer (potentially an entire brewery?) on one can. Especially with no dating information to be found on the can, leaves one wondering about a potentially old and/or flawed sample. But this just isn't good. It lacks hops, it's too malt-forward, and some oxidation and caramel in the malts. Disappointing.

Finger plus head, very frothy surface and craters easily, bone white, pretty good retention, the lacing forms a thin latticework against the glass. While hazy, the liquid overall is closer to transparent than translucent, dark gold to light orange in color, scattered and lazy bubbles. Sharp and angular nose of cracker, biscuit, black pepper, lawn grass and lemongrass, dried white grapefruit pulps, not much fruit just a smattering of withered pineapple, peach. Full-bodied, while generally creamy it is also so dry that there’s minimal soaking in and it feels firm enough that you sense little fluidity. Hops, hops and more hops upfront, the malty creaminess really doesn’t come with distinct flavors per se, light cocoa or buttered biscuit. Earthy and metallic, here the tangerine to pink grapefruit able to add a dollop of sweetness at the end. However, the pineapple, papaya to peach fruit attenuated and fleeting. It is distinct and honest in an unadorned manner. But the relative lack of fruit and citrus make it one dimensional, if still drinkable provided you like your IPA super dry.
