Pours black with some ruby red highlights when held to the light. Nice thumb sized coco head that falls slow and laces well.

Aroma is nice chocolate smooth, lactose chocolate milk notes along with the added coco nibs. Some rich roasted malt notes also sweet with some underlying burnt notes, licorice hints. No real hop notes but there in there.

Taste is just like the nose, rich chocolate notes on a sweet malt base. I know there is no lactose in this brew but the amount of chocolate make it so sweet and smooth. Good doses of coffee in the finish that wasn't really in the nose, also good doses of hop to balance the sweetness and prevent cloying. That being said the hops seem to be just enough to balance it out and aren't a big factor either. Some light warming from the alcohol notes but not noted in the flavor .

Mouthfeel is smooth big but not heavy if that makes sense. Can tell your sipping a big brew but its not super full, carbonation is mellow.

Overall really digging this brew, maybe I am in the mood for a big stout, or maybe this is just a fantastic brew. Only one way to see go grab one for yourself.

Bottled 11-17-2014. Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is jet black, with a tall, thick, foamy, light tan head. Pours thick. Aromas of milk chocolate, bittersweet baker's chocolate, subtle coffee, hints of char, and a solid roasted character. Flavors are rich milk chocolate forward, with the bitter cocoa nib character in the backbone, along with some dark roast coffee notes, hints of boozy warmth, and a crème highlight. Very well balanced, on a smooth, rich, velvety body. The aftertaste is more of the dark, bitter chocolate, and some roasted qualities. Smooth, sweet lingering, slow finish. This is a great beer!
