Ever since I stopped here for the first time I've been wanting to go back again and again. There is a great atmosphere once you get in. Driving up to the place your hopes might be dashed a bit because it seems like a run down industrial complex with old wire fencing and barbed wire around the area. But once inside there's a nice bar with a small stage for musical acts and the garage doors are open to the outside where you can sit and chill with great beer on a nice day. They also have a big outdoor venue for shows they put on in the summer that looks like a good time, but I haven't been down for one of those yet. And of course the beer is good. Haven't had one yet that I didn't like. Overall it's a must stop if you're anywhere close.

A nice little brewery East of Asheville. You could get a bus from Asheville if needed.
There brews were good. They are known for organic beers.
The only take cash, which was fine. They had outside seating, and with a 75 degree day in early February, it was nice.
It looked like they had bands occasionaly play as well.

I'd definitely recommend visiting.

Go there for Pisgah beers. They usually have some guest taps but why would you do that! They have an awesome outdoor stage in the summer, you listen go great music, drink fantastic beer and they also usually have some good foodtrucks sitting out there from very good restaurants around the Asheville area. I like Pisgah, great vibe here and they usually have a nice summer schedule to listen to music under the trees!

During my recent trip to Asheville, I hooked up with the Asheville Brews Cruise. Pisgah was the first stop. Located outside of Asheville in Black Mountain on a rural drive, Pisgah is the quintessential small brewer: there is the tasting room, which brings to mind a garage with a bar. However, there is a stage here since Pisgah offers live music during the Summer. In the back, around the corner, through the rear door, are the tanks.

A great little place with a really nice pale ale. (Available at Pack's Tavern downtown.)

Based on several visits, including some during events. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. In addition to a brewpub with a (newly improved) stage, Pisgah has a seasonally open outdoor stage for larger acts. Whoever books their musical acts does a great job.
Legendary beer with limited distribution: Always seems to be something on tap here that is available no where else.

The tasting room is a big, funky, grungy former industrial space with a big stage for music and an open area with picnic tables. The guy behind the bar was friendly and very helpful. I was blown away by the beer. I have tried five at this point, the GreyBeard IPA, the Valdez Coffee Stout, Cemetary Gate, a Belgian IPA collaboration with Burial from Asheville, their Porter, and the Vortex II Chocolatized Imperial Stout. The GreyBeard was the weakest of that bunch on my rating scale, but it was perfectly fine and I wouldn't mind drinking it on a regular basis. The others were REALLY good, with the Vortex being really memorable - I put it in roughly the same category as one of my hometown faves, Enlightened Despot from Lickinghole Creek. We enjoyed a growler of the porter all weekend. It's just a well executed, easy drinking porter. It was a bit of a bummer that they only fill their own growlers, as we had hauled along some empties from Richmond for this trip, but I understand the choice from a quality control perspective. Coming from Richmond, where craft pints range between $5 - $9, their prices seemed really reasonable.

tasting room is in an industrial park which makes you question if you're in the right spot when first arriving. once you enter the tasting room from the interior coridor, it's an expansive space with an indoor stage, long L shaped bar, high ceilings, and big garage doors that open up to a courtyard of picnic tables. very chill. and not very crowded when we were there midweek.

beers are good, nothing too earth shattering. good selection, around 8-10. no food, just some local chips available.

pisgah does a concert series & their outdoor space seems to be a perfect venue to enjoy a show w some good brews. i would absolutely love to catch a show here one day.

I'm sure that for many like us, Pisgah Brewery is the beer gateway to the Asheville area arriving from the east and we made it our first stop. The first thing you notice upon stepping out of the car is that at 2,273 feet elevation, it's significantly cooler here than the sweltering Charlotte airport. So when you step inside and see a wall of taps with full pours from $3 to $5 and are immediately greeted by a friendly server you're definitely glad you made the trip.

Pisgah has around 15 taps with a good diversity of styles. I wouldn't say their beer is world-class but it's very good and certainly fresh when consumed from the tap of the place where it was brewed. The service (and other employees we talked to) were all great and had plenty of tips on other places to check out in the Asheville area. I could've spent the entire afternoon here - it has a great vibe and outdoor space with views of the surrounding mountains.
