I always thought that the Boardwalk was the center of attention of Redondo Beach, but I was shown to be wrong. The area around Redondo Beach Brewing is loaded with little shops, and not far west is the beach. Bring some pocket change with you, as parking is restrcited to the street, and it is all metered.
Just before three in the afternoon, the bottom level of the brewpub (there are two levels) was clsoed off. That meant I was forced upstairs for a drink. The upstairs bar is small, and only holds four people. There is a mix of booths and tables inside, and an outdoor patio overlooking the street. The decor reminded me more of a family restaurant than a brewpub, however. But there were a few TV's around the place.
Six different house beer were available, which included a red, pale ale, blonde, "Dubbel" IPA, "winter wit", and blueberry wheat. I tried the standard pale ale, which was alright. You could also get a sample if you want. The beers are served in 17 ounce pilsner glasses, and go for $5 ($4 during Happy Hour. Unfortunnately for me, HH didn't start until 4pm).
Buffalo shrimp quesadilla with tri-colored peppers? Please! I was actually surprised how well it came out. Or maybe I was desperate for something to eat, cuz I hadn't had lunch yet. Reasonable service from the bartender, thanks for checking up on me.
Redondo Beach Brewing won't stick out in my mind as a place for homemade beer. Hey, it could be worse, there could be no one brewing in town.

Located on one of the main streets off 2 blocks from the beach, we passed by here numerous times and decided to check it out.
Vibe was not at all there! Not a crowd at all except 5 people at the bar, quiet, boring, and when I went to the jukebox, my music didn’t even come one! Maybe coming here to watch a game or eat would be different but I wouldn’t get any of their beer. Isn’t this the purpose of a BrewPub?!?!? The brew kettles were in copper kettles right behind the bar and this was cool but thats all.
All beer was tapped with no head, blueberries added to one (Blueberry Wheat), and nothing seemed to be right...
Service, no way... No one came over to us, and then when I went to the bar, I got the "what do you want?" normal question and no presentation or help at all. Come on, get your act together! Your a brewpub, not a chain restaurant. Capture your customer's attention with a great presentation of the beer and history!
Selection 5-7 of their own but weren’t any good. They didn’t ask for sizes for what size beers we would like, samples, or anything... They had wine available but very limited as well.
Tough place to walk away from and have a good rest of the night! It was a terrible experience (beer vs. brewpub itself) and hope that they realized this from our exit of the place very abruptly after finishing our beers. They need to get their act together if they want to have a good reputation.

Tight packed little brewery near the beach in Redondo (hence the clever name). The bar and some open seating open up to you as soon as you walk in, and there is additional seating upstairs. The bar has the fermenters right behind it on display. The place has a decent feel to it, but it's a little cramped for space, and it got crowded real quick.
The beer was average, at best. The Pumpkin and Blueberry beers were their best offerings. Feel free to see beer reviews for more details. They only had 6 beers to choose from, and the bartender was unable to tell us much at all about the beers themselves, which is always a bit disappointing.
That leads directly into the service, which also left something to be desired. The place was not that busy at all while we were there, and yet there was still a lot of waiting and lack of attention.
The food was actually pretty decent. Decent menu, with some variety, and rotating specials. I would actually return for the food despite everything else. On top of that, the prices were not unreasonable at all. It's unfortunate that the beer and service tanked the experience.

Pretty small brewery in redondo beach that has a nice interior and the fermenters right behing the bar. They served 6 house beera that were average with bluberry wheat standing out the most for me. It actully was a really delicious fruit beer that had fresh buleberries in the glass when it was poured and not too sweet. The bartender was very nice and attentive with a cool vibe for a saaturday night. Quite small for a brewery but a cool joint to stop by when your near redondo beach. You definitely need to try the blueberry wheat beer for sure.

I visited this place for lunch today. with lunch obviously it was pretty empty. so seating was only available upstairs.. I choose to sit outside and I recommend this... The staff was fast and friendly and I did not have any issues with them. I ordered their Garlic bread, and It was really good, I would suggest anyone try these.
Overall this was a good visit, and I enjoyed the place.... They had about 6 beers on tap... Parking is limited. Downstairs it looked like a larger bar and I would like to go back and see what else is on tap.

I went to this spot last night for a friends birthday. I had been here before but it had been years and I didn't really remember much about it. Upon arriving, it was not very busy. The atmosphere has a small typical local brewpub feel to it, nothing special. Based on the looks of the place, it seems it could get very cramped in here on the busier nights. I started off with their RAT Beach Red. It was a disappointment. Not horrible, but the fllavor was off for a red, and it had no real balance to it. Next on the list is our waitress. From the moment we sat down, she pretty much screwed up everything we ordered. My friend ordered a additional side salad, he received it at the end after our main course. We ordered appetizers - when our main course arrived we inquired about it, and she had forgot - we told her to cancel it. When we finally did get our food, it was gross. I ordered a burger (simple right?) my bun was stale and the bbq sauce was bland. I could go on and on. Like I said she pretty much messed up everything we ordered. I could understand some mistakes, as I'm really not usually critical on this kind of stuff, but it wasn't very busy and it was a special occasion for my friend. By the time we left, I had concluded our waitress was a moron, the food sucked and their beer was just plain boring.

Sampled each of the six beers they poured today: blonde ale, red ale, chocolate porter, ipa, pumpkin ale, and blueberry wheat.
rather highly carbonated, if you like it that way; most beers lacked any sort of distinctive flavor; the chocolate porter was on the sweet side, but not bad. they added actual blueberries to that ale, but it didn't really help. the ipa was ok, but not special.
if you can manage to sit upstairs on the 'patio' definitely do so. it's probably less crowded during the week. the selection is fairly wide, but not very diverse.

Went there on 11-28-08 Happy Hour time
This place was pretty cool, I sat up in the balcony for the "view".
The brews were DECENT(at best), my fave would prob. be their Chocolate Porter, really nice n smokey. Didn't care one bit for the PALE ALE.(poor hop choice or blend).
I ordered Beer Battered Shrimp n Chips... WOW! so damn good. Then I ordered Fried Ravioli, another great dish and both for $5(happy hour).
overall I was pleased, didnt expect it to be as good as it was. Beers were decent for a small Brewery/Brewpub. food was awesome. A place worth visiting if you are in the area.
