Single, twelve-ounce bottle just copped from Gary's in Madison...
Appearance: A hefty pour yielded a pale, golden, see-through hue with a decent-sized foamy head that soon receded and left hardly any lacing around the edge of the serving glass...
Aroma: Bland, faint, unappealing aroma... Corny and replete with grains... Watered-down taste as well, yet respectable in its own right, light on the alcohol, makes for a crisp, refreshing, yet still unassuming beer...
Not the best nor worst depiction of the style...
Wholly average in all respects...

pick/mix a six at the local beer store. italian night i guess. brewed by heineken- hmm. 12 ounce bottle poured into an imperial pint. clear golden. thin white head. no lace.

earthy hops. some malt presence. not a lot of depth. no off odors.

herbal hops. a little sweetness. dry bitter aftertaste.

not a great deal of carbonation. ok beer. probably will not buy again.

Very clear straw color with small white head and small amount of lacing.

Metallic smell with hints of lemon and honey.

The metallic really comes out in the taste and overpowers the beer. Slightly skunky, but not bad.

It's very light almost watery, easy to drink, like lemon water, but the metal taste is the real turn off.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours a macroy looking golden straw color though admittidly darker than its American counterparts. Head as typical macro foamy white that bubbles away into nothing in a matter of seconds. Less than impressive.

S: Skunky, though I have to admit I do sort of enjoy that smell. Corny with a ceral grainy sweetness, after further examination I almost wish this beer came in a green bottle so I could get more of the skunk aroma.

T/MF: Light to medium bodied and rather slick on the tongue, tastes mildly of vegetables (corn most specifically) and sweet husky grains, just blah all around.

D: Eh, I had this back in college and thought it wasn't bad, now sampling it out of the bottle I know better, this beer was a dissapointment, I really was hoping for something at least mediocre but this is just depressing. Probably better when fresh and out of the bottle this beer is as forgetable as they come.

Note: I was trying to buy La Rosa because I heard that was the best of the bunch from this brewery. Must have picked this up when I wasn't looking close enough, really dissapointing.

Almost no head to speak of with some lacing. Smell is a bit sour, not too pleasant. Taste is better than smell - slightly sweet, quite fizzy with pleasant bitterness and clean finish.

Very average lager, nothing special about it. At least it is quite refreshing. Actually better than expected, considering I bought it very cheap in the supermarket.

a light golden in color with a one finger white head that quickly faded and no lacing. strong metallic smell thats a real turn off. taste is dry, grainy, metallic tasting and little hop body to it. mouthfeel and carbonation were ok. pass this beer up it's not worth the price.

A: Poured a very clear medium gold color with a quickly diminishing creamy white head that was littered with sudsy macro-bubbles leaving no trace of lacing behind. Visible carbonation was light.

S: dry corn, grains, and a dry buttery herbal hopping with the hopping aroma being one of the few good qualities of this beer overall.

T: The flavor was light dry grains, with a noticeable metallic ting to it. Some herbal hops and dry corn was detected as well. Theres an edgy sourness as well that just doesn't sit well with me. Overall the flavor was rough in the beginning but eventually softens to a more subtle finish with some herbal hopping but was still unimpressed overall.

M: light, buttery with a sour hop fade in the swallow.

D: Below average drinkability cant think of much of a reason to finish the beer I got let alone drink another one. Was a struggle to finish to say the least and one that is best avoided. Their La Rossa was better, try this instead.

A- Pale yellow color, clear, thin white fluffy head that disolved fairly quickly, a few bubbles rising

S- Pale malts, grains, earthy hops, corn, hint of lemon

T- Grains, wheat, pale malts, honey, herbal tea, light citrus, faint hop bitterness

M- Light/medium body, medium carbonation, smooth, slightly creamy, dry finish

D- Decent pale lager

Not really an instant favorite of mine but is probably the best Italian beer that I've had so far.

Opened 12 fluid ounce bottle, poured into pilsner glass.

Poured a nice head of 2". slowly died to a layer of bubbles across the top and ½" of lace on sides of glass. Brew is a light straw with slight gold hues.

Initial smell was somewhat skunky, but after it comes to air, the smell is mostly malty. Taste standard EPA non discirpt "beer taste." it does have a somewhat fruity note, with a pleasant mouth feel and good palatability. nothing major, but better than other brews I've had in this style. It is pretty drinkable, all things considered.

But really, considering the wines that Italy produces, isn't this like expecting a great SUV from Ferrari?

Pours a clear light gold. Some carbonation visible, decent white, sticky head dissipates quickly, leaving only a thin ring around the edge of the mug. Smells grainy, some corn and slightly sweet. Tastes like slightly sweet honeyed grains and a bitter finish. Low carbonation gives it an almost smooth and creamy feel in the mouth, but the body is a little thin. Low in alcohol, but this beer isn't quite refreshing enough for even a very hot day, and nothing impresses me enough to want another.

Poured this 12 oz. light brown bottle into a pils glass. Coded, but no date. The vigorous pour created a large crisp white head that didn't linger. The body was clear and light golden.

Smell was lemony sour. Grains. sweet malts. Understated but appealing.

Taste was relatively rich for a Euro-Lager. Clean, bittering short finish. Seemed to be rather palate cleansing. Peppery. Sweet honey-like malt flavor was balanced well with a light crisp bitterness. Not skunky, but pretty husky (but I like that).

Mouthfeel was rather sharp. Some grainy roughness. Medium to light body. Overall better than I expected and a nice accompaniment to a meal.

A: A light head formed at the top with a golden filtered color.

S: Smelled of very light malts and a slight hint of vanilla bean.

T: Supported a sweet taste of honey, a light floral taste from teh hops and some earthy tasting grains.

M/D: A sharp feel from the hidden carbonation had a medium amount of weight and felt a little grainy. A refreshing brew and a decently drinkable beer.

Pours yellow-gold with a white head that actually retains pretty well. Aroma is faint grass and grain. Flavor is analogous to a US macro but without the disgusting adjunct taste. Light, grainy, and a little fruity. Easy to drink, goes well with food.

Had a bottle of this with lunch at an italian bistro in Charlottesville Va.

Clear macro golden with a pale head.

Skunky florals and grainy (corn, rice, who knows?). No born on or best by date. I am guessing this ones been sitting around too long. Oh well, if they don't put a drink by date, then it's not my fault that this review is not going to be so hot.

A bit grassy and grainy, light body and crisp finish. I guess drinkability is pretty good, it's just not great. This'll be my first Italian lager, and so far, it's not good...I'll give it one more try, assuming I can get a fresh bottle...which is probably unlikely as they do not put dates on them.

Served on-tap at the local Spaghetti Warehouse.
Poured a bright golden-yellow color with zero head (thru no fault of the bartender) and no lacing.
No discernable smell at all initially; as it warmed barley and faint grain of hops could be detected.
Tasted of a very standard, if unimpressive, lager. Nothing particular to note, other than the regular barley & yeast combination. Very little hop presence.
Despite the lack of foaminess, it was very well carbonated and went down nice & crisp.
Overall a painfully average European lager; neither offensive nor notable in any way. I'd rate it one step above Heineken and two steps below a Spaten, Paulaner, et al.

Very high carbonation, thousands of bubbles fizz up through a yellow see-through beer towards a thin, residual head.

Smells slightly malty, but mostly skunky. Ugh.

The taste is average, and better than the smell and appearance would suggest. There's more malts than hops, otherwise it's fizzy and watery and not very beery. Slightly more taste than an American macro-brew, but pretty similar to a Bud.

Definately not a beer I'd drink again, unless I was at a bar in Italy. And in that case I'd probably drink some of the local wine. This beer just isn't very insipring.

What can you say about a beer that really doesn't say much to you? Poured from a 12 oz bottle into my standard Troegs pint.

Appearance is the best part of this beer. A clear light gold. Attractive and promises much more than is delivered.

Smell is basically...nothing. A little malt and a little hops and a lot of nothing.

Taste. Well, take any basic American macro lager and you've got it. Best that can be said is that it does not offend.

Mouthfeel is again, basically non-offensive. It's ok, just not much there.

Drinkability - well, you could certainly down a ton of these without much taste, much smell or much of anything else. Put this in a Milwaukee's Best can and nobody would know the difference.

Can't think of anything that recommends this for any reason.

Pint at Yard House in Rancho Cucamonga for about five dollars, waitress went on and on about how this is one of their most popular beers which seemed impossible to me

A-Golden yellow in color, small 1/2 inch foamy white head, some retention, not much lacing, could see right through it

S-Some hops, malt, bread, hint of lemon, yeast, barley, pretty weak aroma

T-Started off like a standard Italian pilsner, then got a little chewy in the finish, this had a funky aftertaste that was not very welcoming, tasted good on a hot day but so does water, not much going on with the flavor, a little dry at times, got more malty as it warmed, no complexity and nothing to get excited about

M-Crisp, refreshing, and dry mouthfeel, thin body, tons of carbonation, taste did not last long

D-Could drink quite a few of these because it is so low ABV and light on the stomach, watered down and easy to drink

Started off with something light today and it was not bad, my friend had talked about how good this was over in Europe so I decided to give it a try, would not drink again, not worth trying

pale straw gold colored with a thin white head.
the smell contains aromas of cereal grains, a touch of honey and a a few whisps of earthy hoppiness.
as far as flavor, you get sweet starchy graininess. i don't find the small amount of hops i find in the aroma.
the mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with slightly less than moderate carbonation. it's dry and fairly crisp.
drinkability is pretty good. it's a touch too sweet for what it is, and rather boring, but there's nothing wrong with it.

A - Below average head that faded fast and left almost no trace. Carbonation bubbles floating from the bottom to the top. Pale straw yellow resembling an American macro.

S - Earthy grains with a sweet aroma about it. No hops detected in the nose.

T - Not much too it. Just malts.

M - Very bubbly that you could feel on your lips even. Light to medium body that finishes clean.

D - I would get this over any American macro if it was offered.

Overall not as bad as I thought it was going to be. No skunk and a very clean finish. Not bad not bad...

Pours light gold with short lived white head. Smell is light sweet honey like malt. Hint of bittering hops. Pleasant smell. Taste is kind of light and sweet with honey again and some mild balancing bittering hops. Very easy drinking with no off flavors. Just a touch too sweet, with light carbonation and nice for a pale lager though.

Poured golden with medium carbonation. A hard poured yielded a nice and tight two fingered head. It left nice lacing on the glass.

Not much smell to this brew, some graininess.

The taste is sweet wheat. This is very Macro. It is not a bad beer to have with chinese or something. It is light and refreshing. Maybe a good bistro beer on a hot day.

I would get this over other macros but it is just psychological.

This pours a clear crisp gold with thin bubbly head that leaves behind a little bit of lace. The aromas are mostly of grainy malts and a Euro skunkieness. The taste is straight forward and similar to your average macro lager, again with a Euro Lager aftertaste, almost has some non-alcoholic similarities in flavor(cardboard comes to mind). There just was'nt anything that seperates this from your average run of the mill BMC.

after a lengthy jam session with the ill mayhem, we decided to stop and allow ourselves a glourious respite. honestly, this beer's mild color, cool crisp and refreshing taste equate perfectly with the warm, refreshing mediterrenean climate in italy, where it is brewed. but on a cold winter eve in the icy plains of new england, our band prefers a more hearty lager to fulfil the needs of our tastebuds. Behold... this dissertaion which is undoubedly true.

honestly, i could drink 12 of these beers
