Comes in a tall slender necked 330 ml brown bottle, embossed with all sorts of curious images (from scales, to elephants, crossed scimitars to a palm trees). Ingredients list includes both maize and rice, on top of the barley malt, hops and water. Pours out a bright clear highly carbonated light gold hue, capped by a finger`s width of tight spongy head. Nice retention. Concentric wedges of lacing.

Decent malt on the nose, along with a low lying corn presence in the background, but the sourness from the rice tends to cut through it much of the time. Faint grassy hops, I mean faint....

It all takes a dive with the flavour. Sour veggie taste predominates although some crisp malt does appear in the middle, but disappears before the finish. Becomes a bit buttery as it warms.

Mouthfeel is average for the style, nothing wrong here, but not a whole lot of body to it either.

The flavour kills this beer, it`s not bad in its other aspects otherwise.

This is a crisp golden style lager pilsner. Great for drinking on its own, but pairs well with Indian food.

Pours dark gold. Mild head, mid carbonation. Not too much on the nose at all, even for a lager. Grass and grain dominate taste, crisp enough feel.Don't understand any overly negative comments on Cobra. It's a decent tasting beer with enough character and complexity for a macro brewery.

UK brewed under licence version . 4.5%

Look :- Golden , large foamy head. Decent lacing.

Smell :- Malt , alcohol and grassiness

Taste :- Like a beer flavoured alchopop with a strong grassy taste . Bad .

Mouth feel :- Thick and creamy , way too thick and creamy , like thick cream .

Overall :- This beer tastes grassy , it's worth noting because it's it's only real flavour . I genuinely feels like someone created this to taste "beer flavoured '' , it's in no way beer tasting but if you described beer to someone who'd never tasted it then they might make this . It's awful . It taste like beer pop . After tasting I looked at the ingredients, it doesn't have an adjunct. . . It has 2 . It also has a sweetener which accounts for its alchopop quality. No.

I tried a bottle of this beer off the tapper at an India restaurant in Market Drayton in England. It poured a clear golden with white head that left some lace. The scent had grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright crystal malt base with grain presence and a dry finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

(330 ml bottle). "Indian" beer brewed in England. Light golden colour, good head. Some hops in the aroma, run of the mill lager flavour, metallic bitterness. Just another "wash down the curry" beer.

Small fizzy head with an artificial yellow looking body, the pour looks like urine coming out of the bottle so not the best look initially. Smell is grassy and of cereals and grains which is actually quite pleasant.

Taste is bland, some grass, grain but very watery and near tasteless, finish is fine, not great but not that bad, carbonation is perhaps not high enough for the style, or my bottle is perhaps a bit flat.

It's a macro lager through and through but I enjoyed it with a curry once so it gets a few bonus points

Had Cobra Premium Beer in June 2017 at DiViNE, India Punjabi Cuisine, Uttoxeter, England, on draft into Cobra logo pilsner-style pint glass.

Looks bog-standard lager, as the creamier than normal head doesn't last and leaves just a little lace. The aroma of malt and mild melon is not bad either. A little carbonation and then mild malt, joined by a bit of lemon, before a somewhat slick, drying finish, combine for "a beer designed for food," good for washing down a Punjabi meal.

Goes great with a curry but that’s about it unfortunately. A stale taste with a mildly sweet rice taste. Would only ever drink this with a good curry!
