I refer to this one as "Saucer East," being as I am a regular of the original Fort Worth Saucer. Actually, this Addy Saucer is more typical of the size and layout of the Saucer chain since the FW establishment is in an historic building, so they can't modify it too much.

Nice and spacious, lots of room for tables and seating both inside, on the patio and in the cozy "Pub of ♥" area in the back. Crowd is usually North Dallas smoothies, not a real beer culture but nice to look at. Long bar with somewhere around 80 taps stretches across one wall, visually very stunning. At least that many or more in bottles.

I have to give props to this Addy location as they seem to do a slightly better job of QC and selection than does Fort Worth. (I believe the bar back layout has a lot to do with it, keeping the kegs cooler and tap lines shorter.) They also seem to score more selections than FW is able to despite my nagging, such as some of the Austin brews and things like multiple years of Anchor Xmas and maintaining a cask.

Staff is nice and well-trained but can sometimes be hit-or-miss on their info, since they're generally not beer geeks. Food is above average for bar fare but nothing too exciting or out of the ordinary. The only complaint I have about this place is when the band sets up indoors on weekends, the enclosed area makes it so you can't hear yourself think. Otherwise, a very nicely run place.

Being from Houston I am a little biased. If you have no choice in the matter and you have never been to a flying saucer then this location is worth the visit. However the Houston location is overall much better than the Addison location. Selection was just as good as Houston though. I would say that the food was not impressive but neither was the Houston location. I guess the atmosphere could improve and the quality of food. But just go for the beer. Try a fligh of five five ounce samples of your choice for about 15 bucks
