another very standard beer from BJs. this one pours a mostly clear pale copper color with a small white head less than an inch tall. smells reasonably hoppy, with more of an english style malt profile. flavor is similar, the hops are not too bitter or aggressive, just there to crisp things up and not be too offensive to the masses that frequent this chain. im fine with that, its refreshing enough. feel is okay, a little thin on the body for me, i prefer a nice big body on my pale ales. carbonation is fine, finish is quick and dryer. overall a drinkable pale ale, but does not stand out in the saturated boulder beer scene.

I had this on-tap at the BJ's in Aurora.

A - One finger foam, beige in color; dark and cloudy orange body; lots of lacing

S - Orange and spices aromas come up pretty quick; you can also smell some caramel notes which are a bit hidden along with quality hop aroma. Flowery and pleasant; good mix of scents

T - Light and crispy taste. Hops packs some punch. I think this a great blend of aromatic and flavorful hops and malts. Slight bitter aftertaste, but enjoyable

M - Slight oily feel and creamy; great beer build of complex ingredients; hits the palate with a refreshing taste of superb flavors

D - I would have another; if BJ's other beers are as good as this one I would be will to stop by here again next time I'm in the Denver/Aurora area to try their other beers.

On tap at BJ's in Aurora CO, but brewed in Boulder. Nice orange color and a sticky lacing on the glass. Smells piney and citrus and the taste follows suit but is not too strong. Actually a pretty good pale ale, but I'm a sucker for hops..I'll definitely have to try their other beers.

I had this on-tap at the new Louisville, KY BJ's restaurant.

The ale came to me in a standard (non-chilled) pint glass. It was a clear, amber color with about an 1/8 inch head that dissipated leaving very nice lacing on the glass.

As it was from the tap, this beer was very fresh and smelled of nice piney hop flavors - though not very citrusy.

This APA is all about hops without being overly bitter. The taste was very clean and fresh, and again very piney. There was very little malt in the background, even after the ale warmed.

The mouthfeel was somewhat light-bodied and moderately carbonated.

Despite not having much malt flavor, this was a very enjoyable, smooth APA. At 5.9 ABV, this ale hid the alcohol well; highly recommended.

The beer pours a nice gold color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is great. It has a mild malt scent that boasts of pale and carapils malts along with a wonderful hop aroma. It's bitter and well balanced with the malts. The taste is decent. It has a light pale and crystal malt flavor. It seems a bit watery. It has a citrus hop taste that is quite bitter and a bit musty. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a low/medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a good pale ale, but nothing special. I love the aroma.
