A vague aroma of toasted grains tries in vain to poke through the lingering scent of seafood in the restaurant, while the flavor evokes not chocolate, but some sort of chocolate residue like cake batter spilled in an oven. The mouthfeel is impoverished and all qualities are otherwise lackluster. There's just no beer here. And what little there is is awful. Run away.

Had at the pub/breweries closing day party recently. Poured a nice black color with 3/4 inch of tan head that had decent retention and lacing.

The aroma was typical and average for the style, rich roasted scents with a nice grain taste in the background. The flavors were fuller and more filled out than the scent. The body was decent, perhaps a bit thinner than I would have liked, but still reasonably full and well-rounded. Drinkability was solid, having multiples would have been fun.
