My buddy and I stopped here to see if we could get any Three Floyd's while in the state to see Hoosier Hill, the highest point in Indiana on a rainy tuesday afternoon.

This place has plenty of wine, liqour, and nonsense beer but had a solid section to the left in refrigerated cases. I was shocked to find no Three Floyd's but was impressed with the selection from half a dozen other Indiana brewers. Nice selection of Belgians too, and prices here were varied but overall reasonable.

The friendly dude at the counter helped us with directions to Hoosier Hill as well. Solid enough for a liquor store just over the state line.

I was not happy with the selection. Coming from Springfield, Wine Works has a far better selection of beers and wine; whisky is similar but to my shock the prices on bourbons was about 25-30% MORE expensive than Ohio.

Makers Mark 750ml is about $24 in Ohio, here it was $29. Bulleit Bourbon costs me $22.95, here it was over $29! I had always heard Indiana was cheaper and for beer it was about $1 less a 6 pack but the wine and liquor prices were more. But $5-$7 dollars more for a 750ml is ridiculous.

My biggest disappointment was no DFH 120 IPA which someone posted they got from here. Well, they have zero Dogfish Head since they don't even get it in Indiana anymore.

The saving grace was Fat Tire Amber Ale, Skull Splitter and a meager selection of Indiana micros. Good selection of Belgiums, some Germans and most of the Trappists.

Belmont Party Supplies in Dayton blows this place away and has better liquor prices. Wine Works in Springfield has much friendlier help and much better liquor prices.

If anyone can explain their liquor prices, please let me know.

This is THE place in Richmond to get quality beer. They also have a fantastic wine and liquor selection. But, we're both here for beer. They have a decent selection of singles in the cooler with some of the same sold warm.

My favorite part of this store is that they have a really good selection of Indiana made micro brews as well as a great selection of Imports. You'll also find familiar favorites like Founder's, Sierra Nevada, Bell's, etc. I'm kind of new to this whole craft beer awesomeness and this place has been the catalyst for my new found appreciation and respect for beer.

The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I often find myself talking beer with the fellas that work the register...and they know their stuff!

The location is safe, the store is well lit. I once had a fat girl hoot at me as I went inside, but that's about as daunting as this place gets.

If you're in the Richmond area and need a quality brew, I highly recommend you stop by...it really doesn't get any better than this around here!!!

I was looking for a place relatively nearby to my home in SW Ohio. I found Papa Joe's with ease. Its clearly marked from the road. It sits in an old Ponderosa building. Its very bright and open inside. Great selection. Most of what they have is in coolers. They had a small collection on shelves. Currently, they have a rack of the Boulevard Smokestack Series beers. They had a great selection of 3 Floyds: Gumballhead, Alpha King, Robert the Bruce, Behemoth and others. I was very happy with the selection and will be my source for 3 Floyds and Boulevard. Well worth the 45 minute drive for me.

This is a somewhat difficult review to write. Papa Joe's is hands down the BEST place for beer in the city of Richmond and most likely in eastern Indiana. However, that doesn't mean that they could stand against the better places back home. I chose to rate them based on how they faired in the area. (Which is perfect) They have a good selection of singles, with 120 min. DFH, Rogue XS, Black tulip, Behemoth Barley-wine, Schmaltz brews, and lots, lots more. They tend to have special beers here, (just a month or two ago they were selling off the 1997 Triple bock from Sam Adams) and the prices are also decent. There is a great collection of Indiana craft beers and also beers from around the world.

The people working here are really nice and knowledgeable, and more importantly, they are very passionate about what they do.

It's right on the main drag, south a few blocks of the last/first exit on the state line.

Nice large store, they have a pretty good selection of everything, including liquor.

The store wasn't dirty, but not sparkling clean. Not bad, though, no worries on that.

Very nice selection of brews. Beyond the macros, they had some nice Indiana selections, including Three Floyds. Not as many as I've seen in Indy or Bloomington, but pretty good.

Nice selection of imports, as well. Many Enlish and German beers to be found, as well as a nice selection of Belgians.

Okay service. No one went out of their way to help, but they were friendly at check-out.

Beer prices match up with those around the state, from what I've seen.

Well I drove here from Dayton today too see if they might have any high alcohol brews or just anything I can't get in Ohio to try. They have a semi-decent selection of singles but left something to be desired. In their packages they had some things from Indiana I haven't had but I didn't end up getting them either.

The prices here in Ohio are more expensive. For example Bell's Double Cream Stout would cost me $11.99 a sixer here but was only $9.49 in Indiana. So that being said I would go here again if passing through just to buy a few choice six packs of old favorites just to save some cash. But for new and exciting and even maybe a higher alcohol brew I would stray away.

Easily the best selection in Richmond if not the best selection in east central Indiana. Walk in and straight back to the coolers where there is a large selection of singles. A respectable amount of British Ales are flanked by some more common Belgian offerings and a few Germans. Beers like Delerium Tremens, Orval, all Chimays, Ommegangs, and Corsendonks are among the Belgian offerings (not bad for Richmond). A sizeable portion of Sam Smith's and Young's lineups are also available. There is also a decent selection of American micros available by the six pack(but hardly any singles). Don't expect out of the ordinary service though. Prices are very reasonable and it's less than 2 miles from Interstate 70 if you're driving through town. Not an amazing place, but I'll definetely take it.
