This is one of the few they are now bottling, offing as 22oz bombers. The others that i've seen bottled are the amber, ipa, and a seasonal, all 22's.

Pours super black, with some mahogany highlights when holding up to the light.

Aroma is fairly subdued in complexity, but imprssive in power. Just big dry burnt coffee is all im getting.

It's initial and middle are pretty bland, but a huge finish and aftertaste hold prominance. Starts just kinda bitter, like watery coffee, but then waves of burnt smokey malt and cappucino take over. I release a bit of a hot alcohol exhale at the end. A bit fusal.

It's not bad, but would benefit from some recipe tweakage.

Snake Bite offers a nearly absent smell that hints at roast barley without really going there. Its taste is almost hearty though it stops short of being overpowering. In fact, the aftertaste is stronger than the forward play with an agreeable smoky tail full of roasted grains and a complementary American-style hops regimen. The color is dark brown, a shade shy of black, and tan foam makes a good showing.

A nice midway beer between fragile and over-assertive, making it approachable for the novice while still engaging for the veteran. And it warms well.
