A- Clear dark brown with a thin white that disipats quickly while leaving behind no lacing.

S- Sweet dark carmel and plum notes. Their is a nice hint of mild whiskey and vanilla at the end.

T- Tastes very similar to its aroma. Sweet, vanilla, and caramel flavors.

M- Medium bodied w/ low carbonation.

O- A very enjoyable beer.

341ml Bottle from the Ottawa LCBO for $6

Appearance - Brown colour with an above average size frothy beige head. I can't make out the amount of carbonation showing and there is some decent lacing. The head lasted for over 5 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Malts, chocolate, wood

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste malts, chocolate, and light coffee. There is also some dark fruits and a bit of a woodiness.

Overall - Don't expect a typical bourbon aged stout.. this tastes like the rest of the innis lineup basically. It's a decent brew, and another beer that is good to introduce others to craft.

Dark ruby body that you can barely see through. Rocky tan three finger head. No real lacing.

Mild oak, vanilla, bourbon notes in the aroma.

Taste is light bourbon, the stout nondescript.

Very thin mouthfeel for the style. Smooth but not full or slick.

Very unimpressive. As were the other two beers in the gift box.

Poured from the 11.2 oz. bottle into a Tree House tulip.

a: Nearly clear ruby/copper with a finger thick offwhite head which receded to thin even surface foam and

s: Mild bourbon.

t: Bourbon with some bite.

m: Light to moderate, ok body.

o: I&G seem to have a slightly differenct view of stouts and porters than other makers, perhaps being Scottish theirs tend to be more Scottish alelike. This is no exception. There is no roasty malt/coffee/chocolate/smoke flavor to speak of, but lots of bourbon, rather reminiscent of Alltech's Kentucky Ale. I like it, and the color is dark enough to be a porter or stout, but those looking for more heft and complexity might be disappointed.

Clear bottle. OK.

Thin. Blackish-mostly brown brew color. Head is 1/2 finger and thin foamy crust.

Tons of peaty irish malt, kinda weird. Not sure I'm a fan. Very Circus Peanut aroma. Kinda childish. Way too sweet. Forced vanilla.

BLAH. Not pleasant flavors. Very forced fermentation and brewed. Not fluid or "stout-esque". Thin body, carbonation is prickly, sweetness is weird. Too peaty. No bourbon, just fake vanilla. Candy flavors and fake mouthfeel.

Horrid brew. This one went strait down the drain. This has to be near the bottom for style. I'm going to go scrub my mouth out. What a joke of a bad brew.

Pours black with a large fading off-white head.
Nose shows vanilla, bourbon, woody oak and caramel. Very sweet-smelling.
Overly sweet flavours, pretty cloying. Lots of vanilla, toffee and bourbon. Barely any of the roast malt shows.
Body feels watery.

330ml Bottle from Tesco (£1.50):
Dark looking, caramel amber with a few bubbles rising to the surface. There is an inch thick, foamy, light brown head on top.

Earthy with some basic malts and bitterness to kick things off, followed up by some vanilla and butterscotch, with hints of sweetness throughout. There is some smoke coming through and a slightly boozy aroma from the bourbon.

Malty with some vanilla sweetness also appearing as does the bourbon from the nose as well. Some oak and smoked flavours come through along with some caramel malts and a touch of treacle towards the end.

Very smooth to the taste with a medium body and fairly low carbonation. The beer was quite sweet and boozy throughout with a warming alcohol feel coming through.

Fairly average and run-of-the-mill beer to me if I'm honest, it seemed rather plain and unadventurous other than the bourbon coming through and that wasn't an aspect of the beer I particularly enjoyed either.

330 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 10/22/2013. Pours nearly opaque dark reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of dark bread, roasted malt, caramel, toast, molasses, raisin, plum, fig, oak, clove, light vanilla, herbal, and toast/oak earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, yeast ester, and oak barrel notes; with solid strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, dark bread, roasted malt, caramel, toast, brown sugar, toffee, light coffee, raisin, plum, vanilla, clove, oak, herbal, and toast/oak earthiness. Slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark bread, chocolate, cocoa, roast, caramel, toast, brown sugar, toffee, raisin, plum, vanilla, oak, clove, herbal, and toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, oak barrel, and moderate yeast ester flavors; with good robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good English stout style. Good robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/bready malt, oak barrel, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.
