A- Poured from the bottle with an off-white, thin, foamy head, which receded to a collar, over an optically clear, dark amber colored body. No visible carbonation.
S- The aroma is very mild overall; comprised of some mild stewed malts, touches of melanoidins, and some light vanillins.
T- In the mouth, it is quite big; you start off with some stewed malt up-front, which is met midway with some vanillins and some mild oak lactones. Into the finish, you pick-up quite a bit of fusel alcohol, and an echo of sawdust, tannins and booze.
M- A medium body, a little on the lighter side. Very mild astringency, but an impressively soft carbonation. No alcohol heat at all.
Overall- A less dynamic and more boozy version of the original Innis and Gunn. Very drinkable nonetheless.
