OK...let's see if I waited too long to open this...
Poured into a more-or-less pint glass...dark tan with reddish tones, medium head diminishing fairly quickly and leaving lacing on the glass. Nice, though not amazing.
Smell is sweet, like rum, some spicyness and a bit of caramel. Nice, but not amazing.
Taste is interesting. Not a lot like most beer. Must maintain an open mind, here. Bringing to mind some odd beers I've tried before (Biere au Patxaran, XO Cognac beer, etc.) but this holds a little tighter to the beer side than the odd side than those. It's good, but the rum aftertaste is a bit odd.
The mouthfeel is pretty nice. Lively, yet with an underlying smoothness that's intriguing. One of the strong points here I think.
I'm not sure about the drinkability. You gotta like it, I think, and I'm on the fence a bit. It leaves a bit of a stickiness behind that's not becoming, but it tastes interesting enough that I kept wanting to have another sip to just try it again. In the end, one is enough.
Certainly worth trying...it's an adventure.
