Bottle BBE Mar 15 at 40 degrees into standard pint glass
Aroma of sweet malt and caramel
Head large (5.5 cm), white, creamy, slowly diminishing to 2 mm layer
Lacing good – reticulum of small bubbles
Body orange, clear
Flavor is sweet with hints of diacetyl and vanillin; no alcohol, no hops. No peatyness. Ends quickly with a flavorless sweetness.
Palate medium, creamy, soft carbonation.
This is a pleasant Scottish ale – not too sweet, not too malty. The vanillin and diacetyl are both subdued and add a nice subtext to the typical maltiness of a Scottish ale.
