a: nice dark amber color with a strong tan head.

s: vanilla, caramel, toffee, oak, candy sweetness. Kind of like a beefed up version of the regular I&G.

t: lot's of oak and vanilla taste. caramel sweetness follows. biscuity malt flavors come through as well. not a tad bitter. again this is like a slightly beefed up version of the regular.

m: creamy and really smooth. Incredibly smooth for the style.

o: I'm a fan of the original Innis and Gunn (some of the others I can do without) but this is by far my favorite one. I wish they would throw this into their rotation!

Found this at my local craft beer spot in Springfield,OH. Was a little concerned how it was gonna be considering age and the clear bottle, so here's the review:

Color: about 14-16 SRM
Appearance: clear and clean, poured a 1 finger head that disappeared quickly.
Smell: sweet, woody
Taste: heavily sweet, woody, malty, scotch notes.
Experience: a pleasant sweet, woody nose dominates this beer and continues through, even lingering after each drink. The oak age gives it a almost scotch feel. As the beer warms it becomes even more smooth on the tongue.

I would have loved to have one of these soon after it was brewed, as I curious how it's aged. But alas I am just lucky I found it before it was gone forever. If you come across one of these pick it up, before age catches up with it, or before it's extinct.

Bottled and with a presentation box
I really enjoyed this, much more than other I&G seemed to have a rounder flavour, with that ageing more present and a real shame that it won't be a regular

Excellent beer that shows the brilliant diversity of beer

aroma: Oak and vanilla with some slight creamy caramel

taste: A taste sensation with an array of flavours for the palate to enjoy. Oak, vanilla, spices, creamy caramel, cinnamon, slight bourbon and slight woodchips

An outstanding beer that is very enjoyable to drink

This has plenty of age on it. But in my experience Innis & Gunn brews age pretty well despite the clear glass bottles, and this has been kept in the cool dark of my finished basement since purchase.

Poured from the 11.2 oz. bottle into a Tree House tulip.

a: Clear dark amber with a finger thick white head which receded almost completely.

s: Booze.

t; Rum up front with a mild hop bite and considerable carbonation tingle. Rum flavor lingers.

m; Light to medium, ok body, occasional slight watery notes.

o: Much like their Rum Cask aged, very flavorful and sippable.
