Appearance: mostly clear bronze. Substantial tan head. Lots of bubbles.
Smell: a sweet, yeasty nose that surprisingly reminds of a tripel. Pleasant enough though no idea of this cherrywood thing. Maple is not prominent.
Taste: much like the nose though the maple appears in the finish.
Overall: nice enough. Not sure what the cherrywood treatment has done for it. Tasty.

This bottle says Canadian Cherrywood 'Aged' instead of 'Finished', and the label backdrop is white instead of red, but I am pretty sure this is the same beer.

Appearance - pours a cherry-hued amber, loads of froth whip up two fingers of foam quickly. Some decent lacing to top things off.

Aroma - a non-impressive sweet grain flavor to start. After a bit of setup time, some fine cherrywood elements kick in.

Taste - sweet grain, slightly peaty. The sweetness is not necessarily maple-flavored, but it is good. The cherrywood adds a nice woody character, in excellent balance no less. The finish is sweet and slightly dry.

Mouthfeel - medium-bodied, muted carbonation which I like in this case, and a clean, refreshing feel despite its heft.

Overall - an excellent end to a long Saturday day of work in the house. Cheers!

Appearance - Clear reddish brown. Poured into a porter glass. Nice thick 3 finger head at first softening to a lacing across the caramel color. Really nice.

Smell - Cherry wood malt, oak cask, light cherry brandy and beer. Intriguing and not overly sweet.

Taste - Nice biscuit and malt. Very faint hops but just enough for the style. Gladly had to hunt for the maple syrup almost not there - just an essence. .

Mouthfeel - Medium body, medium carbonation . Hides alcohol well.

Overall- Very enjoyable. I bought two 25 oz bottles and only finished half of the other. I recapped it easily and drank the second half on day two. The rating on day two was the same if not better with a softening of the carbonation and smells.

330ml Bottle from Tesco (£2.39):
Dark caramel with a finger-sized, cream head that is a brownish white in colour and settles as a thin lacing covering the surface before slowly turning patchy.

Sweet with strong malts and a touch of maple syrup as the name would suggest. There is some faint alcohol coming through with some pine and vanilla as well as some sugar & cherry.

Sweet malts and caramel kick things off, alongside some vanilla from the nose as well and hints of alcohol too. Despite this alcohol the beer was surprisingly easy to drink and this was helped along by some pleasant dark fruits and spice along with some maple syrup and butterscotch adding to the sweetness in the taste.

Sweet & smooth feel to the beer on top of a medium body and the hints of alcohol that also featured throughout. Carbonation was on the soft side becoming slightly stronger as you got to the middle and there was also the occasional touch of bitterness that seemed to linger at the end.

A nice beer and similar in a lot of ways to the breweries original beer. Smooth and quite easy to drink despite the huge alcohol content and the touches of alcohol dotted throughout the taste. Sweet and sugary with plenty going on to keep me interested and the warming alcohol feel to the palate was very nice.

Consumed January 28th, 2014 from an unrefrigerated bottle purchased at Total Wine about five days prior. Poured into a Klokke Roeland goblet.

Beer pours crystal clear medium amber. A two-finger off-white head forms then settles down to a tenuous crown providing some sheeting.

Aromas are virtually non-existent. There's a vague maltiness, sort of like scorched caramel, but that's all I can pick up. Well, there's a suggestion of wood. Oh, and there's the maple syrup.

Flavor is kind of a mess. Somewhat sweet (maple syrup again) and a little oxidized with a backbone of mild diacetyl, I searched nearly in vain for a trace of cherrywood, but I finally picked it up. Or was it the power of suggestion? Malt flavor is so slight I can't even characterize it properly.

Beer is medium-bodied with low carbonation but quite warming. It drinks bigger than its 8.3% would suggest.

Overall, it's a lovely idea that wasn't executed well.
