Draft pint with dinner at the Southampton steakhouse.

a: Deep clear amber, no head or even a surface film by the time it reached my table.

s: Very mild malt.

t: Traditional, meaning low hops, but not a lot of malt flavor either. Rather like a bland and flat Pale Ale.

m: Light, almost watery.

o: A disappointment. Not to worry, there are plenty of great ales out there where one may obtain his Kix. Just had one, Geary's Pale Ale, the other night.

On tap at the Brewpub. Pours a translucent golden yellow with an inch of head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and citrus. Taste is more of the sweet malt flavor with some lemon and floral hop bitterness. Lemon peel bitterness at the end. Very light and slick mouthfeel. Really drinkable and would be great for warm weather drinking. Overall, nothing great but a solid easy drinker.

Was hooked up with a growler from a friend to try. Pours a clear light amber color with a two finger white head that quickly dissapates to nothing. Very little to no lacing at all. Has a nice blonde ale aroma, mostly citrus with a little bit of hops and malt. Has a very watery taste. Nothing to brag about at all. Almost like a Bud. Nothing great about a mouthfeel to. Nice drinkability but so isn't water. Extremely light bodied.

Sampled from a growler at the Table and Vine tasting. The drink settled with a medium-tone orange look, with a thin head and quick lacing. Smokey lemon/citrus flavors were sensed in the aromas, with a typical amount of hops. The taste had a great sour-sweet balance. The great thing was it was sour to the taste buds on first sip, but then settled on the tongue smoothly toward sweet. Good body with a fizzy carbonation. Overall, a good drink.

Picked up a growler from Villa Spirit Shoppe in Storrs/Mansfield CT.

Pours a nice golden yellow color with a tall but thin white colored head that laced the glass pretty well. It has a nice toasted malt aroma with a small amount of hops at the end to round out the beer. The taste is pretty good. Nice sweet malty base with a slight creamy taste and a nice amount of hops at the end. The mouthfeel was good as well as it was fresh, crisp, yet very smooth going down. This is a highly drinkable beer as I drank the whole growler in one night. Well worth it for a blonde ale.

Many thanks to Lynn for hooking me up with this growler.

A: Poured a golden yellow with a thin, sudsy head that stuck around until nearly the end of each glass. Sloshed around with ease and never broke character.

S: Smells sweet and bready. There's a little hop in the nose, but not too pronounced. There's a faint fruit smell mixed in with the sweetness too.

T: This brew is sweet and tasty. Not too far off from a Sweaty Betty Blonde, but more depth added from some type of creaminess.

M: Mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing. The sweet, bright nature of this brew makes an easy one to quaff down.

D: This was paired with spicy BBQ Lay's and a nice hoagie my bro made, and we were killing this growler. I mean, we pounded it, so to say the drinkability is high would be an understatement.

The second offering from Opa Opa I've tried was better than the first (IPA) in terms of overall taste and drinkability. Though not the most complex thing I've ever had, it's taste can't be denied. I would try and get my hands on another growler, perhaps in the spring.

Kix Ale, this poured a light copper, sudsy 1 inch head that left a broken lace all the way down.
rather sweet smelling fruity aroma, smells a bit like peaches.
a bit grainy tasting at 1st, but then mellowing to a peach or apricot type aftertaste, mildly hopped, not really that sweet tasting as I thought it might be, nice.
mouthfeel was watery and crisp.
drinkability is good I'd say, easy to drink, no real unpleasant tastes..yeah this was a good drinking beer.

Poured from a growler, which was purchased at Julio’s Liquors, into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a bright yellow color with a medium white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of light malts, wheat and some hops.

T: A nice bready wheat flavor comes out first and holds steady the whole time. There’s a very thin but pronounced malt backbone, with a mild hops character. The after-taste is bready and slightly sweet.

M: Very smooth and very crisp, light body, medium-to-heavy carbonation, finish is very clean.

D: Tasty in its simplicity, goes down quite easily, not filling at all, good kick for a beer this light, this beer is perfect if you want something light and easy-to-drink. I sampled four of Opa-Opa’s other brews and I thought this was the best of them, so I bought the growler and was not disappointed.

Pre-packaged screw-top growler purchased at Yankee Spirits, Sturbridge, MA.

First imperial pint pours with a 1 1/4" bright white head, which faded slowly, with delicate lacing. Brew is clear and golden, with an aroma of pale malt sweetness and slight grassy hops. Taste is quite balanced, with the grains and crisp hops working together nicely, with a lingering lightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth, and drinkability is very nice. This beer may seem somewhat unexciting at first blush, but I think it fits the style very nicely.

Picked up a growler at Phipps in Westfield, poured into a pint glass.

Poured a clear golden color with about a 1/2 inch white foamy head. Had a sweet, wheat aroma which was pleasant, but not very strong. Very mild taste, wheat malt with a hint of citrus. The taste actually kind of reminded me of the Cereal by the same name, Kix. Im not sure if this was just in my head or not.
Thin, bubbly mouthfeel. This beer is extremely light and very drinkable. Great social or hot summer day beer.
I'm not a big light beer guy, so this didnt really do it for me. But if that is your thing this beer probably wont disappoint.

Wasnt to impressed on the appearance. I poured hard but no real head was present. The color is a clear golden blonde color. Minimal bubbling carbonation. I noticed when I opened the growler the cap wasnt on that tight. I was immediatley concerned about the carbonation and freshness. The mouthfeel is bitter but lacks a crisp carbonated finish. Has sweet malt notes with a bitter wheat taste. Not really impressed. Maybe It's better on tap at the actual brewery.I'll have to try it.

Sampled at the brewpub. Named for KIX 97.9 FM. This is a wheat ale made with "less wheat malt than in the Wheat Ale".

This wheat ale poured a clear, golden color with white foam that settled. The smell was of wheat malt with a hint of hops. The taste was wheat malty with a touch of biscuit and a hint of sweetness and a mild hoppiness. The mouthfeel was crisp and dry with medium-light body and good carbonation. This was a decent and refreshing ale.
