22 oz bottle into a couple of pint glasses.

Pours a hazed copper, topped with a finger or so of thick white head that maybe has a bit of an off-look to it. This retains with a smooth sudsy look, leaving back a foamy cascade of lacing that slowly creeps down the sides of the glass. The aroma is a nice mellow mix in the nose of pumpkin, sweetness and spices. A light leafy feel to the edges let the flavors float a bit in the nostrils.

The taste has a decent fresh pumpkin flavor to it, with a moderate amount of earthy citric bitterness that lends this a pleasant crispness. Malts add a neutral feeling balancing sweetness, while a smattering of spices add some extra character to the profile yet don’t overrun the pumpkin in any way. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a lively firm feel in the mouth that is equal parts sharp, crisp and then a little slick, which helps keep this smooth.

This was a nice no-nonsense Pumpkin Ale that kept its focus on actual pumpkin flavor and a crisp quenching feel that made this very drinkable. I guess this is new this year from OPA-OPA. Color me impressed. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this again.

Well I picked this beer up a couple of weeks ago and was surprised that I could find out so little about it and wasnt even reviewed on Beer Advocate. I had to even call the brewery, which is also a steakhouse here in Mass to find out the ABV of this beer.

A: This beer pours a medium-orange color with a amber tint, which has a thin, creamy, off-white head leaving a little bit of lacing.

S: Smell is of the pumpkin pie variety with traces of real pumpkin, cinnamon, all-spice and nutmeg.

T: The Rich texture brings about flavors of those noted above in the smell. I get a taste of some clove along with the pumpkin peel and spices.

M: The mouth is creamy and smooth, very flavorful. Noticeable carbonation in the pour, but dies down as the beer warms.

O: This is a great, natural pumpkin ale. Hard to get information on and probably even harder to get if you dont live in the area. For a brewer with a steak house, this has to be a beer that was crafted with pride and precision. would definitely seek out again, and for $5, how can you go wrong!
