I had a growler of this while watching 3:10 to Yuma for my birthday.

The theatre was dark, so I paid little heed to appearance, but the smell was awesome. Lots of malt and hops, once again my favorite kind of style.

The taste was out of this world. It was basically like the smell: malty, hoppy, and very smooth.

Mouthfeel was just average, nothing special there.

Drinkability is through the roof! Now, every time I attend a movie at this theatre, I always seek out the Drafthouse Amber. Its worth every penny!

Prost!

Appearance: Deep amber in color, with a touch of haze, a small white head, excellent glass-coating lace, and slight carbonation.

Aroma: Herbal and floral hops dominate, beneath this there is a slight caramel malt note, and a mild mineral character.

Taste: Sweet caramel at the open, which establishes a strong malt backbone, which lasts throughout the taste, followed by a mild note of herbal bitterness, which carries from start to finish, which lingers, mildly, at the close.

Mouth feel: Smooth and soft, quite pleasant, with a touch of carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: While clearly aimed at the broad public of beer drinkers, and not connoisseurs, this is a very drinkable, well-made beer, which might inspire macro drinkers to try craft beer. A nicely-made example.

A fairly worthwhile session beer here, well suited to the enviroment it was intended for. On tap @ the Alamo Draft House, San Antonio TX.

Served in a standard pint tumbler a medium amber in color with a thin off-white head. Nose was quite fresh and a bit floral, not overly strong. Taste is much more hoppy than expected for certain. A nice floral hop flavor dominates, very little in the malt area, slightly sweet but nothing more than that,

A good highly sessionable brew, not overly interesting, but well made nontheless.

Slàinte!

The color is a moderate shade of amber with a nice-sized, light brown head. Retention is above average. The aroma starts with mild malt but soon gets taken over by a stronger citric hop smell. Taste is much of the same, malts become overtaken by hops in a style that is usally malt driven. Hop flavor isn't very strong compared to a west-coast apa, but controls a weak malt body here. The overall flavor is good and fresh, but seems off for the style. This beer seems halfway between an APA and an amber. Drafthouse Amber has high drinkability, just be warned it might not taste how you expect it should taste.
