I have to disagree with the poor reviews - I have had a couple of bottles of this so far and I have enjoyed it both times. It is not a West Coast IPA or a Imperial or Double IPA for sure -- but it doesn't claim to be.
Bronze / copper penny color with a 1" head that retains well at a 1/4" and hangs around all the way down. Nice, thick fresh lacing left on the sides of the glass. Aroma is mild pine, floral, some citrus and a sweey malt backing. Hops are restrianed up front and then kick in mid-pallete and on into the finish - more of an herbal, grassy hop finish. Same sweet malt backing to balance it out. The mouthfeel is creamy and medium bodied with a lower to middling level of carbonation. Overall drinkability is very good.

Absolutely delicious ipa! Smell immediately gets you excited to drink the beer. Once it hits the palate, it has a hoppy yet smooth taste with creaminess. Delicious, deliciius , delicious! Fortunately, I live just down the road from Austin so I will have access to this beer. If you truly enjoy hoppy, creamy, amazing ipa's this is the beer to go with. Awesome!!!

12 oz. bottle poured into tulip
(5/30/13 bottled date; drank 12/26/13)

L: pale peach to murky orange; murky opaque; huge head, over 2 inches of meringue-thick foam, off-white to light tan

S: big hops here, bitter citrus, grapefruit; sweet tropical fruit at times

T: for a 6-month-old IPA, not bad; very hoppy and bitter on the citrus side with caramel showing at times but not often; bitter, not sweet until it warms

F: solid all around

O: plenty good enough to try a fresh one ... in fact, i'll be seeking out a 6-pack of this soon if i can find some inside a month old

A: A quick pour into an english pint glass produced a finger of mixed sized white foam that persisted for a decent amount of time. It left a coat of streaking lacing on the edge of the glass and a layer on top of the moderately hazy copper liquid.

S: Grapefruit, citrus and dank resin hop aroma are the dominant characteristics. A slight toasty note comes in from the malt and a slightly fruity character.

T: A nice assertive pine and reisiny bitterness that leads to a more refined pine and grapefruit hop flavors consistent with the nose. A balancing bread crust and toasty malt profile that doesn't take away from the hop flavors but seems to support it. Clean fermentation character.

M: A medium bodied beer with a medium carbonation level. The reisiny hop oils coat the tongue giving it a slick mouth feel.

O: A resin filled, flavorful IPA with a supporting malt backbone. Won't blow your mind but, you could do a lot worse.
