A - golden yellow with a tint of amber. Good carbonation with a good amount of lacing.

S - slight sweet malt, light caramel/citrus

T - Caramel, slight bread and rather light hop character (clean grassy/herbal in character)

M - Moderately high light bodied, good carbonation

O - Good drinkability. Definitely a session beer in my opinion. In regards to overall, I can't say it's bad, but not the pale ale I am going to reach for. I would drink it at a bar.

Poured a light clear golden with a thinner white head that didnt stick around long leaving no lace behind,the Ringwood yeast shows thru in the aromas quite buttery with a "green" leafy hop presence along with a toasted grain note.A pretty basic pale here that ringwood yeast shows thru again with its buttery tones with aligtly sweet caramel base melding into a lightly-herbal finish.This seems to me more English than American I think more malt driven but highly quaffable,better than average.

Appearance – Nice, hazy orange in color with a decent head.

Smell – The soft, citrus hops mix well with the substantial yeasty profile. This is similar to the ImPaled Ale aroma.

Taste – The malt base is big and creamy, full of caramel and mature sugars. The citrus hops are almost an afterthought.

Mouthfeel – Lighter than medium in the body and very smooth. There was a subtle touch of carbonation to this one as well.

Drinkability – I thought that this was the ale’s strong point. It is truly a fantastic session ale.

One of the staple beers in my fridge - rarely is there a time when there aren't a few bottles of this kicking around in there. If there aren't, it's because I went to the brewery and they had MacGregor's Ale (similar, but single varietal hopped with Centennial - mmmm!) for growler fills.

Bright amber, an offwhite head that lasts for a little while, and a nose of hop flowers, sweet malt, and a hint of diacetyl (hey, it's a Ringwood yeast brew...) that works in tying it together.

Ahh, the balance. Hoppy (bitter and flavor) but not overly so, a firm yet slightly caramelly, fruity maltiness, a diacetyl hit mid-sip that plays off the hops and rounds out the flavor profile, with whiffs of alcohol and grain as the sip finishes, leaving a dry, slightly bitter green apple and butterscotchy finish. Ever so quaffable.

Presentation: 12 oz brown long neck with no freshness date to be found.

Appearance: Crystal clear orange amber with a well retaining wispy white lace.

Smell: Sweet floral hops with some malt and fruit. A tiny whiff of butter diacetyl is in the nose to.

Taste: Smooth with a crisp malty medium bodied mouth feel. A very pleasing blend of malt sweetness and hop bitterness hit the tongue at the same time. Some fruit and alcohol sneak in also as well as a light coating of buttery diacetyl. Finishes off nicely with a mellow sweet grainy after taste.

Notes: Extremely well balanced, drinkable and non intrusive. Another great pale ale brewed in the North East. The Yorkshire Ringwood yeast strain does some justice for this brew by giving it some complexity that does not overwhelm. Brewed in dedication to the city of Syracuse, home of the Middle Ages Brewing Co.

A clear and deep coppery color with a translucency due only to the color, this beer struggles to maintain a wispy head that sinks down to foam with strong edging and achieves decent spotting.
As similar as can be in aroma and flavor, this pale ale is moderately hoppy with a focus on earth, leaf and mineral notes that make me wonder if it isn't an English version. A hint of estery sweetness comes up at the front and gives way to the bitterness, while a bit more flora comes out from middle to end.
It's more prickly than crisp and bitingly so. Its light-medium body holds a certain mineral edge to it.

When in Syracuse, buy a like named beer!

Pours clear gold with a one finger white head that dropped to a cover but left some lace.

Floral hop nose with a slight soapy presence...no it wasn't the glassware.

Taste was similar with some floral hops up front, slight bitterness through the middle and a clean, somewhat dry finish.

Mouthfeel was on the thin side with a buttery presence. Mellow carbonation was a bit prickly on the tongue.

Nice session brew at 5%

On-tap at the ALe House in Syracuse. Bland, watery, nothing much here. Unoffensive at best. Some faint floral hops and bit of citrus flavour on end. On malty,sweet side but an Ontario brew. Like their hoppy beers and their stouts much better. Something for the Ladies and Canadians perhaps.

A - Pale straw color, almost transparent, but still slightly cloudy. One finger of white head which quickly dissipated to a thin layer. Very little lacing.

S - Pine hops and wheat malts; some spice as well. Slightly sweet smelling, focusing on a dominant malt profile: wheat grain, butter, and sugar.

T - Light and bright initially, followed by a strong wave of back-of-the-throat malts, including caramel, butter, and a bit of a liquorice flavor. Hops are fairly mild, showing pine. Some earthy woodiness. Interesting flavor profile, but not my cup of tea (beer). Taste follows aroma pretty closely.

M - Extremely light and lager-ish. Makes for a quick drink, which is good for this style. Very little oily hop residue, little carbonation sting, no sense of alcohol (of which there shouldn't be, at 5.0%).

O - This seems like an experimental flavor, with some pine hops and a huge malt character, all in a light-bodied ale. It's not a bad beer, but I wouldn't dream of making it my everyday ale.

Shared a pitcher at Kelly Cole's. Looks a pretty amber with a short head. Smells of estery fruit. Tastes of ringwood with a mix of fruit and creamy butterscotch over lightly carmelized grains and grassy hops. This isnt an amazing-tasting beer, but its very nice and one of my favorite local session beers.

Dark orange with a medium bubbly head.

Flowery hops with a grassy element and sweetness dominate the aroma. That Ringwood also comes in.

Full bodied, smooth with light carbonation. Light fruit flavors blend with bitter hops and caramel sweetness. Flowery hops show up midway through and then leave a bitter-sweet aftertaste.

A very easy drinking pale ale. That Ringwood is starting to become more apparent with every Middle Ages brew I enjoy.

Pours a very clear orange, with a thin wispy white head. A decent nose of floral hops and some fresh fruit. Up front, rather thin, yet quite refreshing; floral hops backed by some malt sweetness. Tender, very crisp, flavors emerge as she warms. Sticky, ever-lasting bitterness, overall not the tastiest of pale ale's available, but one that could serve as a decent session brew.

Poured by Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse, NY.

A: Golden and light without much character. Nice head and lacing with light carbonation.

S: Hoppy nose with citrus and light malts on top of an almost wheat base.

T: Reminiscent of a wheat. Nice and citrusy with a lot of soft tinges. Lacking of any major flavors but not a bad drinking beer. Nice and smooth.

M: Clean and crisp with hoppy bitterness.

O: Not terrible, fairly forgettable midrange pale.

Pours a crystal clear orange amber with some wispy white lace that is retained
Aromas of sweet floral hops, some darker malt and fruit.
Flavor is smooth with a crisp malty and biscuity taste. Bread and butter aroma notes come to mind.
Mouthfeel starts with a malt sweetness and then shifts to a bitterness with some citrus notes.
Drinkability is very pleasing, nice solid beer from a great NY brewer.
