Raised from the dead for 2019 - this beer is an over the top Irish Dry Stout. Large amounts of roasted barley and chocolate malt are balanced by a big addition of flaked barley and the world's finest British pale ale malt. Extremely roasty but still highly drinkable.

Had this on tap at the brewery.
Was blacker than hell with a thin tan head.
Smell was malt and coffee. Smells a bit like it's been casked.
Taste was coffee up front that mellowed a bit to dark chocolate before finishing with malt.
Mouthfeel was good. Not to much carbonation, although I wasn't impressed with the consistency, seemingly hitting pockets of flavor while other times it seems I hit a sour rough spot, interesting, and if its planned, cool.
Drinkability is good. If I had had the money to get a growler of it then I would have.

really good, a resurrected older recipe back on tap at their new taproom, which is awesome! this is a really robust stout, packed with dark roasted barley and all the bitterness that comes with it, probably too intense there for some, but i dig it. there are enough other things going on to keep this from being one dimensional, such as a neat old world european ale yeast with plenty of character in the nose and taste, some mid palate english grains and a little sweetness with them, and some chocolate and coffee nuance popping in and out, nice depth really, and overall a very well executed beer, these guys almost always kill it with the dark stuff! super dark brown in color with some obvious viscosity for the style and a fast settling light brown head, not a lot of carbonation activity evident here. aroma is so dark on the grain its almost burnt, really the darkest possible end of the spectrum leading the way, hints of molasses and toasted nuts in here too, black drip coffee, hot cocoa. the flavor is real roasty, and it drinks bigger than it is because of that intensity, but it warms up well and has some licorice character on the swallow. wintery and manly and good. i like the yeast i can still taste in this, and what must be some oats smoothing out the mouthfeel. bold and yummy.

Nice balance of malt and bitter. Earthy. Notes of dark chocolate nibs, coffee and smokiness.

Served on tap in a 16 oz (473 ml) nonic at The Evergreen in Syracuse, NY.
A: Pours a black color with a 2 finger, tan head, solid retention, and gorgeous, complex lacing.
S: Aromas of dark chocolate, black coffee, and molasses.
T: Dry. Flavor is very subtle version of the nose; solid but not overpowering bitterness. Very nicely balanced.
M: Full bodied with strong carbonation.
O: This is an impressively well crafted, authentic take on English Dry Stout.

Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a cap of a little white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Some stringy yet messy lace. The aroma had a good amount of dark chocolate with some roasted malt and coffee. Slight smokiness. The flavor takes the previously mentioned aromas to blend nicely. Some dark fruits come in to excite my tastebuds. A touch of breadiness. Quick semi-sweet aftertaste with a crisp sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about medium bodied with a fair sessionable sort of smooth feel rolling all around. Low carbonation, but I didn’t mind. ABV felt fine. Overall, a pretty nice sweet stout worthy of coming back to.

On tap at the Village Tavern in Geneseo, NY.
Pours dark brown, almost black. One inch head, with good sheets of lacing down the glass, white and foamy.
Aromas include chocolate, heavy roasted malt, and some coffee.
The taste is great- smooth and a bit buttery, with lots of dark chocolate, and smoky roasted malt. I taste some coffee grounds as well.
The beer is very dry, almost ashy. Creamy mouthfeel, very drinkable. Medium bodied.
A great English stout from Middle Ages, I would've expected them to knock this style out of the park.
