Purchased from the brewery.

The 12oz bottle pours with a half finger head over hazy golden orange body into my Chimay goblet. Head fades fast to a thin covering over the body, eventually disappearing completely.

Sweet, almost candy-like. Toffee. Fruit. Apple. Butterscotch. Alcohol in the background that slowly comes to the fore as the beer warms.

Fruit scent carries over into the way it tastes. Fruit is orangey. Buttery and moderately boozy. Sweet with a mild tea-like bitterness in the finish. As mild as the bitterness is, it lingers.

Lightly carbonated, body on the light side of medium. Slick. Very smooth, very easy to drink. Easy to drink one or two, but the high alcohol limits how many you can have.

Bomber

A gold hued amber color, a quick froth of white settles down rather fast.
A sweet and sour malty aroma, with red and dark fruits, sweet and spicy yeast and hop combo with signifigant heat tinge round it out.
The flavor is much more malt driven than any other Tripel version i've ever had. I suppose a "British" Tripel is going to have some serious differances from the traditional Belgian and American versions. A very sweet and heady malt dominates with classic English malt flavir's of toffee and honey. The body is surprisingly soft, flat-ish but also ling and heavy. A flat, long mouthfeel is unlike any other i've ever. A bit of a let down for sure, from the tradional style versions.
Overall, I cant say I love the English version of this style, it's interesting and unique but just not anywhere near the Belgian classic.

Another good beer from them.

Pours hazy yellow with a slight orange blush. The color is the color of ripe apricot. So many tripels look just like this with a perfect stream of bubbles that rises form the center. White head in the tasting glass I cant' speak to it. Fruity nose with lots of earth. Nose is fragrant with wheat and with spice. Pear. Clove is demure and perfumey and there is coriander. No actual citrus on this nose but the ringwood yeast is tangy and shows you that element. Sweaty, vibrant No alcohol on the nose. The beer is light like a soft sweet little punch. No real biting carbonation despite the stream of bubble you can make out through the haze. Still, it drinks breaddy from wheat and very creamy . Esters from yeast are crisp like banana peel. Not overly ripe banana that smells like bubblegum. Spice clove and a good hoppy finish. Bitterness reveals a light floral and the soft pear as the earth that was so deep literally evaporates on your palate to reveal a soft alcohol presence that has no sting at all. A mouthfeel that is deceptively light.

Outstanding.

Right about the median in color for the style, Tripel Crown is pale orange with a dark golden glow, shining and clear. The lightly tinted head is more spritzy than foamy or creamy but tightens up to half a finger and leaves pretty good lacing.
The nose proffers some fruits, a little dryness, heat, and some cleaner sorts of grains, pale malts light and crackery.
The flavor is heavy on booze-soaked pale fruits and honeyed biscuits. It is fairly hot, but the heat isn't so much in the taste as in a rush to the head. There's a light woodiness that's soft, more balsa than oak and not particularly dry.
It's lighter in body than expected and doesn't have that nuanced dryness of the best Tripels. It's too sweet to capture the subtlety or depth that it could, and it goes a little flat off the end of the sip. There's some fluff to it thanks to a strong carbonation.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains apples, citrus, caramelized malts, Belgian yeast and some spice.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel, honey, apples and citrus. Then some breadiness comes in from Belgian yeast and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, it might not be the best in the style but it’s a solid beer worth drinking for a while.

A fairly clear, orange-iced tea colored ale this stuff produces a modest white cover that largely settles quickly to a ring with solid lacing. The aroma suggests a pleasant orange citrus-malt mix with some cider qualities. Pleasant enough. The flavor brings a sweet pear and caramel malt blend that's not too bad. Tempered by a touch of alcohol presence. There's hints of licorice and leafy bitterness. It's medium bodied with a mildly stinging carbonation that disappears quickly to a somewhat watery feel. The alchohol seems to become more prominent as you go. This is pretty good but not something I'm compelled to revisit.

A - bright golden orange with a thin, white, fizzy head that fades quickly

S - fruity esters, apples, white grapes, pears

T - grainy, apples, pears, alcohol

M - warm, medium bodied, well carbonated

This is a rather disappointing beer. This beer is one-dimensional. The fruity esters are really all that come through besides the sweet, grainy base malt. I think a bit of spice would be a welcomed touch here. Though this is disappointing, it's not a complete loss. It still has decent drinkability and would probably please most.

With unusually elevated levels of fruit and sweetness, the hybrid Belgian-style tripel/English-ish ale is about as Dr. Jekyll n' Mr. Hyde as furniture polish and "Fruit Loops".

The eye is drawn to the beer's caramel appearance and creamy froth in a most English ale kinda light. Though the beer may exhibit some Belgianesque character in taste and scent, there's nothing that points in that direction based on the beer's aesthetics. Light yeasty haze, simple head formation, retention, and lacing all portray a nondescript amber ale appearance.

Serious fruit notes leap out of the glass with a vivid display of sweet fruit notes just like that of children's "Fruit Loops" cereal. Apple, pear, strawberries, raspberry jam, cherry, apricots, and mangoes may even allow for a nostalgic stray into "Fruit Roll-Ups". Engulfed in a whiff of butterscotch, the estery and rich taste further say "English" to me. Think citronella and furniture polish.

And the rich sweetness continues in taste as well. Much of the fruit notes in aroma translates to familiar taste in Belgian tripel ales. Except the level of sweetness and semi-artificial fruit notes rise to near-cloying levels. Any balance from dry malt, hops, or spice is timid and leaves the beer decidedly sided with candied malt sweetness. Cloves, pepper, and alcohol offer slight reprieve from the sugars and fruit notions, but only lightly.

Heavy on the tongue, the beer's light carbonation keeps it Englishy but it also causes the full brunt of sweetness to be felt and limits its drinkability. Its long fruity middle palate closes with strong alcohol warmth and mild peppery heat.

This schizophrenic ale doesn't know what it wants to be- either a drier and earthier Belgian ale or a sturdier maltier English ale. In trying to do both, it doesn't do either all that well.
