Prime Mid-town location. Two streets away from the Empire State Building.

Welcoming atmosphere, but still rather vibrant. Lots of young people on a Saturday night. Long bar on right. Seating around the walls. Taps on the walls behind bar. Beer decor, but not too cheesy. Done well. Lounge area in the back. Get there if you can. That space is available for private parties.

Selection is diverse and well-rounded, though no great finds for the most part. Still, you can get a Belgian white, or an Imperial IPA, or a Pilsner, etc etc. I saw Stone IPA, and Arrogant Bastard, also Brooklyn Lager, Great Divide, Boulder, Stella, Pilsner Urquell, and many more on Tap. Also, dozens more in bottles. Beer menu divided into styles, like at other beer bars.

Food was good. Appetizers include a nice Italian cured meat platter with cheese, flat bread, and pickled veggies. Entrees are limited to pub grub, like hot dogs, burgers and sandwiches, but they are down o so right. I recommend the Ginger Man Hot Dog.

Service is somewhat sassy, but attentive. They are just really busy and have no time for any indecisiveness. We got our waitress to try some odd beers, that we had ordered, because she seemed curious.

Wines and mixed drinks available for significant others or friends who might not be enthusiastic as your self when it comes to beer.

I got there around 10pm on a Saturday, manged to snag a lounge spot. When I got up around midnight to relieve myself, I was astounded to see the place packed to the brim. Young, lively crowd. Great place to chill with friends and toast to some tasty brews. I shall return whenever possible.

I must concur, the Ginger Man is definitely worth your time and enjoyment. We visited twice and got a seat at the bar both times. It wasn't very crowded but we were there in the early afternoon, once being on a Saturday. I thought the interior was cozy and comfortable, especially the bar area, in spite of the fairly large seating area. The bartenders were very knowledgeable and friendly. They were attentive to all the patrons and yet were also able to converse with us. An interesting and extensive beer list, plus a wide variety of Bourbons, Scotches, etc. We has a delicious soup and the pretzel with beer cheese which was great. This pub is a treasure and a great place to warm up on a cold day.

This place is awesome! A beautiful midtown pub with a classic looking wood bar decor and cool retro pictures. The real deal for NY ambience and not a cheesy tourist trap unlike some of its midtown neighbors.
The selection is overwhelmingly huge! There is a printed menu, updated daily, as well as a chalk board that lists beers from all styles imaginable. I had a Belgian style Tripel and an IPA, both excellent. They also have food. One of my companions was having a hot dog with sauerkraut. Later, we ordered a hot pretzel that was to die for!
This is a big and crowded bar. Normally I shy away from these types of places, but the crowd was mature, (no frat boys or meat heads), the noise level was reasonable and luckily I was able to get a seat. I have to hand it to the barmaids! As I said, the place was packed and they were slammed with orders. Yet they were able to stay attentive and I had no trouble getting my orders.

Best Mid-Town bar. Casket-treated beers are awesome. Excellent whiskey menu also!

Had some time to kill waiting for my train from Penn Station, so I picked this place over the other pubs on the same street based on their advertisement for Sierra Nevada Beer Camp. Silly but I guess advertisement works.

Atmosphere - Nice and comfortable, booths, tables, or bar. I chose table by an outlet to recharge phone.

Quality - Club sandwich was tasty, perfect to compliment my flight of four beers

Service - Waitress was knowledgable and friendly.

Beer selection was great, had beers not available in NH.

Overall I would recommend and go back if in the area again.
