Amazingly for a city like New York large-scale quality places like the Ginger Man are far and few between. There seems to be no shortage of indistinguishable tiny bars. To be sure plenty of bars with a few cool features too but still plenty of forgettable ones.
What makes Ginger Man memorable is obviously it's beer selection. It is also extremely large inside and has a nice back room with Winston Churchillesque arm chairs and vintage beer paraphernalia. The bar is also in the bar scant area of Murray Hill.
The beer selection is indeed fine but craft beers and rare exports, aka the entire point of drinking here, can quickly start to run you some serious dollars. But its NYC so you have to expect that.
From my experience going earlier will help alleviate some of the crowd cramps but even early you'll probably be standing.
They have added beer to go since I was there last. Nice growlers from them or bring your own. You even get a little discount.
Overall a must visit place if youre ever in nyc
