Poured from a can into 20oz pint glass

A - This might be because it was carried home in a shopping bag, but I got a ridiculous amount of medium-retention, white head. Minimal-no lacing though, and it's otherwise a pretty standard wheat-fogged white-ish ale colour.

S - Wheat and malt. A bit of an interesting yeast scent but overall wheat.

T - Bit better than the scent, it tastes a little bready, with a burnt-wheat complexion. Sadly, the beer is overcarbonated, which diminishes the flavour 2-3 seconds after it hits.

M - Creamy, but very bubbly. Light body, overall very refreshing.

D - A summer, lawnmower beer. It's very drinkable, almost as much as a pale lager.

This is a good summer witbier, and I'm sure it would be delicious after a hot day. However, the carbonation, profile and appearance don't really stand out from other wheat ales.

Part of Central City's summer 12 pack.

This beer pours a cloudy light straw colour, with two fingers of soapy, puffy white head, which leaves a curtain of drooping lace around the glass as it duly melts away. It smells mainly of wheat grain, with a tiny bit of spice, and a slightly metallic edge. The taste is somewhat mineral-esque sweet wheat grain, and some mild citrus essences. The carbonation is moderate, the body light, fairly smooth, and it finishes clean, and dry.

A relatively mild-flavoured wheat beer, considering the other accomplishments of this brewer.

Can at Bar Volo. Not a pad one, more of a beige coloured wheat, darker than expected in the style, with a whitish head. Mature wheat aroma. Mouthfeel is a bit below average, and there is taste and drinkability there. A mild but significant hoppiness. Decent for the style overall.

from notes...
A - Fully hazy straw yellow, short head dissapeared quickly
S - Coriander and musty spiciness, light orange zest, wheaty malt
T - Buttered bread malt, light coriander, orange zest, light fruity yeast finish
M - Decently carbonated kick to start, light, mild spice tingle and citrus peel bitterness
O - Not the best from central city, but a pleasant summertime refreshment that is very sessionable

Appearance. Light golden straw in colour. Just a little haze and a half a finger of bubbly white head leaving a little nice lacing.

Smell. Light toasty grain. Some fruity yeast and a little lemon peel.

Taste. Nice. Clean light grain and a hint of citrus up front followed by a little hoppy bite and some lemon. Some lightly toasted grain lingers for a second or two at the end.

Mouthfeel. Light bodied with a little alcohol presence. Good medium prickly carbonation.

Drinkability. Drinks really well. Crisp and refreshing. Makes me wish it time was summer time.

Can: Poured a light yellow color ale with light white haze and a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of light coriander and bubblegum wheat malt notes. Taste is dominated by some coriander with some bubblegum wheat malt notes and light orange peel notes. Body is average with good carbonation. Good enough level of complexity with nice refreshing notes.

From a yelloe 355 ml can. Pours out a hazed bright straw colour, with a tall white spritzy head that quickly settles.

Clean soft wheat, mild dry spice and tropical fruits on the nose.

Clean and dry flavour, almost like a mild Saison. Soft wheat and crisp grains up front, dry orange pith and lemon rind in the middle, with a bone dry spicy finish that lingers on into a mildly astringent aftertaste.

Medium-light mouthfeel, somewhat slick texture, dry, with a brisk carbonation.

On the mild, dry side of the style, almost more reminiscent to a farmhouse ale, but it works for what it is. Just as quenching as a Pilsener for a hot day, but more of a spicy dryness than a hoppy dryness. Unique for a Canadian version of this style, that's for sure.

For the style would like much more carbonation; quite flat and lifeless
S:very little, soft honey, some clove
T: very little character, would not pick this as a white beer if tasted blind; very light
M: needs more carbonation and life
O: not impressed; forgettable

Thanks to wordemupg for this one.

Poured from a 355ml. can, best before 10/26/2012.

Appearance: Lots of spotted lacing and the body is completely cloudy with the color of crystallized honey.

Smell: Mild ginger, strong wheat, tropical fruit and some spices.\

Taste: Spices, wheat, citrus, orange, and peppery. Pretty nice.

Mouthfeel: Crisp with lively carbonation.

Overall: A pretty good witbier. Nice to have in the need of summer.

Can from the Ottawa LCBO part of a mixed 6 pack for $13

Appearance - Hazy yellow colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. It's hard to make out the amount of carbonation showing and there is some fair lacing. The head lasted for around 2-3 minutes.

Smell - Breads/grains, clove/coriander, citrus

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste breads/grains mixed with some peppery clove and yeast. There is also a bit of the same citrus flavour found in their IPA/APA. It ends with a bit of a spicy aftertaste.

Overall - I was really enjoying this at first but it started to wear on me a bit towards the end of the glass. Something about it is just bit off balance. Still a very good beer.

Poured from a 355mL can into a pint glass. Very nice looking beer, a cloudy bright sunshine yellow. Whoa, this smells more like oranges than any wit I've ever experienced! There's no banana or pineapple, maybe a little lemon, but mostly just intense orange backed by a slight syrupy sweetness. It's a very refreshing-smelling beer. In terms of taste, though, I feel a bit let down: the orange turns cloying, with only a hint of the complex spice that distinguishes the best of the style. Overall, this beer typifies why I rarely drink witbiers: in terms of appearance and smell, it seems like it would be the perfect summer refresher, but the taste and mouthfeel emphasize sugar far too much for it to be truly quenching.

Not a bad beer by any means (the smell alone propels me through the glass), but I feel like it's a bit of a tweener: too sickly-sweet to be the summer beer it wants to be, but not complex enough to quite hold up as more of a sipper.

Dated: NA
From: Premier Wine & Spirits

A: Hazy green-golden body boasting four fingers of head in a weizen glass. Head dissipated very quickly and leaves no lacing.

S: Hints of citrus, spice and some yeast notes. Very weak

T: Much like the aromas, there are faint notes of citrus and spice, some yeast at the end. Quite weak flavours

M: Light bodied and medium carbonation. Water like texture and leaves a dry citrus aftertase. Typical wit feel.

D: This is a miss for me. Nothing really pleasing about it. Shame.

Poured from a 12oz can into a tulip glass

A: Color is a pale yellow with a light gold tint, very much like urine. There is a touch of cloudiness. Head was a solid two inches, compact, bright white. Slowly disippated, leaving foamy lacing.

S: Citrus (lemon and orange) with some spiciness. Smell is pretty subdued.

T: Taste is pretty light with more lemon and orange notes. The wheat is present, but in a very mild way, blending nicely with the citrus and spicy notes. Some very minor bitter notes on the finish.

M: Fairly light (per style) with decent to high carbonation. Feels very 'alive' in the mouth.

D: This was a very refreshing beer and better than the average wheat beers out there. If it was easier to get, I could see stocking this as a sessionable summer beer for working in the yard or camping.

Hazy straw that's more white than most wits, very little head or retention.

Light citrus & a hint of spicing in the aroma.

Nice lemony citrus & rind, very light spicing, modest bitterness, very well-balanced and drinkable.

Light to moderate body is smooth.
