This is the second brewpub that I've visited in Italy. I visited with my family during the lunch period, while on a sightseeing trip to Lake Como. The brewpub is very easy to find, located on a main road and not far from the highway. There's ample parking (which is certainly important here), and the hours are clearly posted. The building is large and modern, with high cielings and dark wood tables and fixtures. The food preparation is out in the open, near the enterance, and the selection of meats is appetizing as you enter.
We were seated at a simple table inside, although there was a patio for outside dining as well. The only beers available were the pub's standard selection. They were all lagers, and ranged from a light pils-style beer through a double malt black beer. I chose a malty amber lager named Roxanne. THe beer was malty, bready, and fresh. It was well made and without any notable flaws.
The food selections ranged from sandwiches to traditional Italian and German dishes. We had sandwiches, which were quite good.
The service was solid. We were clearly American, and one of the servers went out of his way to speak to us in English (maybe he couldn't tolerate our broken Italian). One interesting point was the method of order-taking. EAch employee carried a wireless palm-pilot-like device. Orders were punched into these machines. The service was uncharacteristically fast...both for Italy and for ANY brewpub. It was quite impressive.
I'll certainly be going back to this place.
