Copious amounts of Citra, Amarillo, El Dorado, Ahtanum, Azacca, Centennial and Cascade hops are backed by a mild toasted malt character. Dry hopped twice with even more of this great hop blend. Your hop head may explode!IBU 90 ABV 8.1% O.G. 16.3º Plato

Made with a clever blend of new and old hops, Max Lagers updates the traditional Imperial IPA with Citra, El Dorado, Ahtanum and Azacca hops upon an old school bitterness of Cascade, Amarillo and Centennial hops for a modernized hop-head's delight.
Brilliantly clear with a copper and amber colorization, Hopsplosion pops with a radiant perfume of citrus, tropical fruit, stone fruit and a sweeter candied scent. As the taste of honey, caramel and toasted nuttiness represent a granola character, the taste starts malty and buffering from the hop flavors.
As the sweetness starts to fade, the hop flavors step in with a juicy burst of red grapefruit, tangerine and pineapple, all seeming honey-dipped and candied in their effects. As more nuanced flavors of peach and apricot bring a stone fruit flavor, the late taste develops a citrus peel bitterness with sweet spruce and sun tea for a distinctively bitter finish.
Full bodied, smooth and yet drying, the late taste trends bitter, resinous and pleasantly drying for a surprisingly refreshing taste for such bold and juicy flavors. This IPA really is the best of both hoppy worlds.

Had on tap. Somehow missed this one going from my notes to the site, whoops. Mostly clear amber with a white head and lacing. Getting pineapple, orange, lemon, mango and papaya in the nose with mild hops. Taste is milder, fruits and hops all there but feel like they lost something on the trip from the nose. Feel is lighter, thinner, yet crisper for style, no hop explosion instead a mild vibration.

This was a tasty and good looking IPA that felt like a throwback since it wasn't ridiculously hazy.
It possessed an appropriate bitterness, which I appreciate.

I had a pint of this with a burger at a conference in Atlanta back in March. The IPA has nice hop, but there was a distinct if slight metallic taste on the back end.

One of the better IPA's have, though I'm starting to be able to tell various IPA's apart now. Probably because I have had a variety of them, and it can be hard to differentiate them. This beer is quite hop forward and there's a nice bit of fruit flavor too. Though it felt a bit sticky / heavy on the palate, which I didn't care too much for.
