This is what you might expect from a small, local brewpub. A little bit of pine on the nose and palate but not much else. It's not bad but it's also not memorable or notable. All in all, a pretty inside-the-box, uninspired beer. It's fine if you're at the restaurant - which is pretty good - having dinner, but I wouldn't make a it a point to seek this out otherwise.

NOTE: Barley's and Smokehouse are no longer one in the same. The Centennial is the flagship IPA for Smokehouse and is solid, yet not as exciting as it's seasonal and occasional IPA offerings. Very underrated C-bus brewery as a whole

On tap at the brewery.
Poured slightly murky, golden orange color, short white head that left decent spider web of lace.
Lots of carbonation bubbles keep the head going.
Lots of hop aroma, grapefruit, grassy, herbal.
The flavor is citrus and fruity hops, balanced with some caramel malt.
The mouth feel is full, yet still smooth, finishes dry and bitter.
According to website description, aged with French white oak contributes a hint of vanilla,
but I have to admit I didn't find that, but there was a good level of complexity.
Another drinkable and enjoyable IPA
