A: Pours a lightly hazy orange-amber color. The orange-tinted head is initially quite tall, with a dense, frothy texture. Retention is good, and sticky lacing is left all over the top of the glass as the head recedes.

S: Some maltiness in the nose, with moderate caramel notes. Maybe even a little brown sugar. Some herbal and citric hop aromas, with some lightly piney undertones. Not particularly vibrantly hoppy in the nose, which is a little odd considering the 133 IBUs. Bittering hops don't contribute much to aroma, but they must have used a fair amount, right? Some fruity esters linger.

T: Fairly malty up front, with caramel prominent and lesser notes of bread crust and brown sugar. Very aggressive hop bitterness arrives early and stays late. Hop flavors are piney, herbal, and citric, with particularly pithy grapefruit/pomelo character. This is not an especially clean fermentation; there is some yeasty character, primarily by way of fruity esters.

M: Fairly creamy up front. Carbonation is on the light side of average. Bracing hop bitterness adds considerable and lasting dryness to the middle and finish of this beer.

O: This is a big, hoppy, jagged IPA from Sly Fox. It's not a bad beer, but it's full-frontal and a little less graceful and pleasant than some of my favorites.

Pours amber orange with a huge, fluffy pure white head, leaving a solid ring of lace. Nose is sweet citrus and bready malt, with maybe just a hint of pineyness. Taste is big on hops up front, very assertive without being too bitter, with a nicely balanced sweetness. Mouthfeel follows suit--crisp and bitter enough without being too sticky. A very solid IPA that has a lot of the flavor of an Imperial without the headache (or limited availability). Try it out if you feel like you're burnt out on too much hoppiness or can't find what you were originally looking for--it's hard to imagine you'll be too disappointed.

Copper color with a one finger thick head that reduces to a constant plate and leaves a wall of laces.
Aroma of caramel malt, bread, faint herbal citrus and earthy hops. Although, it is not heavily dry-hopped, it is quite pleasant.
Very original flavor for an IPA with an initial bitter punch, triggering a couple of sneezes (my internal thermometer for hopness). Notes of caramels, citrus, herbal and earthy hops, pine, tea bag, grass, pineapple, and American spice yeast.
Medium body with low carbonation. Alcohol of 7% abv is definitely not felt.
This beer is a hop sampler, quite opposite to a single hop. Hard to interpret its multiple personalities, that sometimes even fells assertive. Recommendable. In my opinion it is underated.

Serving Type - Can

Appearance - Dark golden tan/brown. 1 inch foamy head with lots of lacing.

Smell - Some dank hops, malts, a little sugar note, not getting much else.

Taste - Starts off with a big malt note with a piney, grapefruit hop kick. Some sugars add very minor sweetness to battle the caramel malts and bitter hops. Not much else going on.

Mouthfeel - Tongue gets lots of malts, then the palate gets the hops and some sugars. Aftertaste is hop bitter and dry.

Overall - A one-two punch, you get caramel malts, then you get bitter piney hops. Id like to try this beer with less malts so the hops can come out front and really take over. Hell, add even more hops, add dry hops, make this a dipa if you will. Decent beer, just nothing special.
