Malty aroma, some noble hops. This could be a German-brewed beer, but it's too thin for that.

It has a sweet Pils malt aftertaste, and bitterness up front of Tettnanger, but if it were sold in Germany, it'd be on par with Oettinger, a REALLY cheap beer sold in Germany and usually seen in the hands of street people, and that's not good.

Serving Type - Can

Appearance - Light straw yellow with a white, foamy 1 inch head. Decent lacing.

Smell - Nice mix of malts with some spices, added sugars and some minor fruit notes. Lemon, some grain and a little caramel note at the finish.

Taste - Starts off with light, clean and crisp malts, some lemon and grassy flavor. Orange, some pineapple and grapefruit are also present. Bready, some caramel and spices show up near the finish.

Mouthfeel - Light and crisp, malts and some fruits coat the tongue. Palate picks up more malts, lemon and grassy notes. Aftertaste is light, lemon and malts.

Overall - Average. Really light and easy to drink. Nothing special and the flavors are very light. Its fine for a summertime beer to pound away at but nothing id take over a lot of other summertime beers.

Tasted on-tap 9/25/06 at Tria Cafe in Philadelphia, PA. -- Advertised as "Sly Fox French Creek Helles" - 4.6%.

Straw colored with a low white head. A light grainy aroma with almost a slight adjunct character. Similar in flavor, grain and light adjuncts, with just enough hops to balance. Fairly light bodied but has a decent dry finish.

A light Helles but not one I'd likely go back to.

Per Sly Fox website: 11.5 OG. 18 IBUs. 4.9% ABV
Imported German Pils and Carmel malt.
Saaz and Hallertauer hops.
Bronze Medal, GABF 2002.

Many thanks to woodychandler for providing this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can, and I am not really felling this cup/can design. Has a golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is mild, a bit of malts. Taste is crisp, malts, some hops, refreshing and easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a good session beer.

Popped the lid on the new 360 design, which I think is really smart, and drank straight from there.
A - Looks a golden yellow color, no head because it was not poured.
S - The belgian yeast is what dominates this in aroma and in taste, but its not exactly potent, some lager yeast is present as well, some earthy grains, no real hop aroma.
T - Bitter yeast, a belgian touch, some moderate other flavors, but nothing extraordinary. Tastes more like a pilsner than a lager.
M - Medium, decently carbonated.
O - Tastes like "beer, beer" with a belgian touch. not bad, but I'm digin the can design big time, I hope it catches on if everyone is going to start switching to canning.
