look: 4.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Poured into a sam adams custom glass: color is gold, light effervescence, head is off white, presenting about 1/2 inch thick then dissipating to a light top and ring along the glass with some lacing on the glass sides.

Smell is hop forward, bitter with earth, grass notes presenting first followed by subtle malt notes, reminds of the the sweetness from munich malts.

Taste is simple: hop forward presetntation with similar flavors to the nose, grass and earth some pine and more citrus is notable; malt is subtle and comes through as it warms and the bitterness clears.

Mouthfeel is clean, nicely carbonated, solid bitter presence and profile; malt sweetness is not cloying, finishes dry.

Overall, a nice DIPA, it feels maltier than some, but is not sweet, hard to describe but the hop bitternes is appropriate and it really hides the strength well.

Drank it straight from the can. I was sitting on the beach so I didn't have much glassware available to me.

Seeing a lower-end score on this made me wonder if it would be as good as some DIPAs I've had. This one was very drinkable. I could see myself having a few of these at a BBQ or on a boat, crabbing in the bay.

Not super flavorful, but still very tasty. A bit tropical, a bit citrusy. Definitely worth trying.
