Thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a whilteish/yellow color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of fruits, yeast, a little funkiness to it. Taste is tart, lemony, spicy, some mustiness, tasty and easy drinking. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass (a legit pint, not a short one) at Nostrand Pub in Brooklyn. I guess there are a couple of Sly Fox breweries on this site ... I've gone with the Grisette with the most reviews.

Appearamce: medium light gold with plenty of haze. Head is a finger of ivory foam with limited retention and lace. Still not a bad saison.

Smell: farmy and funky right up front; this is one dank horsey saison. I can get behind this.

Taste: plenty of funk along with a bit of farmhouse sourness and a hint of diacetyl. For some reason, this all rubs me the right way. I like a saison with a lot of weird character.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a ton of carbonation and a great creaminess; quite satisfying indeed! This might be one of the best-textured saisons I've had. Woo!

Overall: I really like this beer. I feel like I could quaff tons of it.

A Pours light opaque straw color with a white foaming head.
S- Light banana and clove mixed in with a mild funk.
T- A crisp bready flavor that finishes clean with a little pepper. There is a Belgian funk that plays well with the other flavors with a perfect trio of tastes. The yeast and malts are on point to say the least.
M- clean with a Belgian bite at the end.
O- This is a very satisfying beer. None of the flavor components overpowers the others and this is quite enjoyable for the warmer weather.

Nice light farmhouse. Hazy light orange with good lacing. Funky aroma. Very fruity with a clean finish. Great beer for summertime. Experienced during a Sly Fox tap takeover. Not a huge fan if the style but I would try this again if I ran across it and it was very hot outside. And there was nothing else available.

Poured from a tap at the brewery into my Sly Fox Foxtrot 5k can glass. This was the beer they were serving after running their 5k this weekend.

A: A medium hazy orange color that was deep and vibrant. Some glass lacing sticks and the head was one finger nice and white.

S: Yeasty, fruity, some mustiness, grainy and a bit of pepper.

T: Really fruity upfront with lemon, tangerine, peach that gets mixed with spicy clove and pepper flavors. A bit of grainy biscuit malt couples with the spices, some mustiness and the herbal hops. Finish is slightly bitter and dry. Good beer.

M: Medium mouthfeel with spicy notes and a dry bitter clean finish. Perfect for a saison.

O: I rated this beer based on style, and it is spot on for a summer saison that is easy to drink, very refreshing and semi-sessionable with the low ABV.

A really nice easy drinking and enjoyable saison. This was my first sampling of it and I really enjoyed it. Great day for a run and my first try of the Grisette. I guarantee it won't be the last time I drink it.

A: The beer is slightly hazy light straw yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger and a half high bright white head that gradually died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles on the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderately strong aromas of Belgian yeast are present in the nose along with notes of peppery spices.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of Belgian yeast along with notes of peppery spices—coriander in particular—and hints of grainy malts. The spices are most notable towards the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be a relatively good representation of the style and also quite drinkable.

A 355ml can with a BB of Oct 2013 (presumed). A little out of date, but hopefully still in good order. Acquired recently from the Brewdog online shop. An American take on a classic Belgian style.

Poured into a Duvel tulip. A bright golden hue with plentiful carbonation and faint floating sediment. Produces a ridiculously massive head of creamy white foam with decent retention; this slowly reduces to a thick surface layer. Slight lacing. Aroma of fruity saison yeast with hints of clove, banana, bubblegum, phenolics, coriander, spice, faint malt and earthiness. Rounded and delicious.

Tastes of fruity yeast esters and spice, with a bone-dry finish. Notes of clove, banana, mild bubblegum, coriander, spice, faint apricot, a twinge of grainy malt and earthy yeast. Highly attenuated, followed by a subtle, herbal bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and good body for the style. Light but well defined. Mildly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of fruity yeast, spice and earthiness.

Good stuff - a solid take on the style. Looks lovely in the glass, while the aroma and flavour are replete with fruity, spicy yeast notes. Decent body. Perhaps the only thing missing is conditioning with live yeast as in Belgium - I reckon it would add subtle depth to the flavour and texture. However this is a trivial point; nicely done and very tasty. Well worth sampling if you're a saison fan.
