On-tap at Local 44 in Philadelphia.
Pours a hazy golden color with a one-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.
Smells of crisp light malts with just a hint of breadiness. Also present are moderate amounts of grassy hops with earthy undertones.
Tastes very similar to how it smells. A combination of pale and pilsner malt flavors kick things off and are joined almost immediately by grassy hops. Midway through the sip the malt flavors are joined by hints of breadiness. Near the end of the sip there's just a hint of tartness that's more from the drying out of the profile than anything else. The ending is crisp and mildly bitter.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with solid carbonation.
Drinkability is very good. I finished my glass without a problem and could easily have another.
Overall this was a solid beer - as it should be based on the reputation of Pennsylvania's lagers. Well worth a shot.
