A - Three plus fingers of airy big chunky cola brown colored head... Decent retention gives way to a thick chunky lacing and thicker collar... The color is a light to medium tranlucent caramel brown... Mostly still with just a couple of stray carbonation bubbles...

S - Fairly complex nose... Cinnamon... Ginger... Some mild dark fruits... A bit of candy cane... Light piney spruce scents... Some faint syrup notes... Some light caramel and toffee notes... Each whiff produces a new wrinkle or dimension...

T - Loaded with an assertive holiday spiciness... Cinnamon... Ginger bread... Just a touch of clove... Some rather assertive spruce notes... Notes of dark fruit are rather subdued... Light plum... Some raisins... Just a subtle kiss of caramel... A faint metallic presence as well...

M - Medium bodied... Bristling carbonation... Dry and slight astringent throughout...

D - An interesting and surprisingly assertive Winter Warmer... Wonderful to sip on while just staring and enjoying the Christmas Tree and aromas of holiday baking... A little rough around the edges, but still a very nice offering...

Dark brown with big retained head, Stephen's bottle. Above average carbonation. Good for the style, good malting in the secondary. Ginger, licorice, herbal. the spices show themselves in the smell as well. Medium mouthfeel. Nice drinkability. By jove they got it.

Poured from a bottle into a standard pint glass. The cork shot off this beer and it foamed over just a bit.

Appearance: Pours a mostly clear reddish dark amber with a fist of off white head. The bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass are huge.

Smell: Sweet caramel malt with strong fruity notes and some Christmas spice. Just a bit bready from the malt.

Taste: Similar to the smell. There is more bitterness in the flavor and less sweetness. The bitterness seems to overpower the spices. The dark fruit notes are still there.

Mouthfeel: Really over carbonated. Medium body with a slightly dry finish.

Overall: The carbonation and bitterness were too much to overcome. The idea was good, but the execution needs to be tweaked.

Bottle shared by Steve, 750ml into a tulip. Best before date of November 11, 2013.

Poured a dark reddish brown, with big bubbles forming a tan head. Nose is malty and spicy, lots of clove and allspice prominent (so they should be, they're on the label!). A bit of brown sugar too. Taste is lightly nutty and malty, caramel and toasty grains/biscuit. Spices are about the same as the nose, a bit of cinnamon there too. Medium light body but a bit too watery for my full liking. Pleasant and simple, I could certainly revisit this - I found this somewhat akin to GI's Christmas Ale which was nice.

First had: bottle from Pinocchio's Beer Garden, Media, PA

Found this sitting in my fridge, so it's been in there for about a year or more. Quite dark in color compared to other years' versions. Dark brown, but not nearly black, with a half inch or so of beige head that retained well and left a bit of lacing. Aroma is expectedly spicy, mostly cinnamon and ginger, caramel malts. More of the same in the taste, caramel malts, slightly burny, slightly bready, slightly nutty, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, licorice, hints of herbal hops, no fruitiness detected, at least not significant enough to mention. Medium body, pretty easily drinkable, and held up pretty well after sitting for a year plus.

Appearance: pours a dark brown almost black color with a fluffy 2" head that lasts a while.

Smell: ginger, cinnamon, mild earthiness, and a hint of licorice are pleasant on the nose.

Taste: toffee, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, a bit of dark bitter chocolate, some earthiness including a hint of evergreen, and a nice bitterness.

Mouthfeel: medium-heavy in body. Lightly crisp to start, a bit smoother and a touch dry at the finish.

Overall: a nice slow sipping beer to enjoy in front of a fireplace on a cold evening. One bomber is more than enough in a session, but it perfectly fits the winter season.

Pours an amber color with a slight hazy and a big pillow head that is four fingers in size and slightly off white. The head recedes to a tight skim with gobs of lace up and down the glass. The aroma is of dark fruits cinnomon nutmeg and a good amount of ginger. The taste has a caramel malt backbone with a big ginger taste. There are also slight hints of nutmeg and cinnomon. The mouthfeel is moderately carbonated. Overall it is an okay beer its not best in glass but drinkable.

Don't let this beer sit for 3 years. It doesn't age well!
