I finally got to visit Nodding Head for the first time for dinner and a beer. Located in a great part of town right on Sansom Street in the business/restaurant district.

A: Nice old town atmosphere akin to a throwback bar in Philly. You have to go upstairs to get to the second floor pub and once there you feel like you are back in time. A really old bar and all wood old floors make you feel like back in Ben Franklin's time. Throw in a bit of "new wave" with the decorations and music and you have a nice mix. A bit dark, but that's part of the whole gig.

Q: Good, but not great. The beer was solid, but nothing I would rave over nor would I go way out of my way to get there again.

S: I sat at the bar so my service was great. The bartender waited on me promptly and provided me with samples of some of the beers.

S: They had a nice selection, but it still left me wanting more. No IPA? No belgian? They had maybe 8 tapped beers, all of which were different styles but they were missing some staple selections I felt they should have had.

F: Average. I had the steak salad and it was ok. The steak was lower quality, the greens were few and far between. The fries however were very good.

V: Not bad, overall I think I spent $ 22 for 2 beers and the steak salad.

Overall I felt a bit let down. I see they have a whole bunch of beers they brew, but as I looked at the beer menu it had not a single beer over 6% abv. Someone needs to really look at the beer menu and make sure it is more diversified. They had a bunch of different/unique beers, but you still need some everyday staples. Still a solid place that I would not hesitate to visit again hoping they had a more diverse selection.
